The first thing to do is contact the tg venue and see what there reply is and available dates for the summer 2010.
I have contacked one of our international race tracks to see if they could accomodate such a event and waiting for a reply if they can then i will let everyone know and name the track.
I have told them it's a fundraising event with hopefully some of the companys involved with the site having stalls and hopefully some of there cars on display and also drivers wishing to take the car around the track can at there own cost.

Jokin apart this is a start.

The TG mini event attracted so many because: everyone can associate with TG and love the idea of driving on their circuit (even though it's no Silverstone lol), and the whole £40 went towards the charity/s.

Back in a bit ...

If you can manage to find a date I'm free on (very difficult during the summer!) I'd be very interested in this. Definitely avoid BTCC weekends though as I know of quite a few Civics who seem to be regularly at these!

Sorry but ONLY Civics
I did toy with the idea of Type-R's only but decided it wasn't in the best spirit.
The best thing to do is collectively decide what format we want to go for.
Remember, if there is racing, overtaking etc then the issue of stewards/marshalls, health & safety, ambulances etc comes into play.
In my mind (at the moment) this is about:
Driving the Top Gear circuit
Making money for charity
Having fun
Making friends
Unity for our members
Increasing the profile of our excellently run forum
Having fun
Great Family day out
Having Fun!!!

The dynamics will no doubt change as we gather information over the coming weeks. Right now i reckon it may be easier to obtain use of the circuit and site if it is shown to be a safe event with minimal risk.
Imagine two drivers trying to squeeze through the follow through!!! It is not really a 'racing' circuit.
I really think it's about experiencing the circuit we all see on TV and the braggin rights that you drove on it and blitzed the field and drove faster than the Stig etc

That's excellent - Summer will be much better in my opinion.

We will need a few lead/pace cars - i suggest NSX or S200 owners could fill this role, maybe some Mugen FN2's???!!!

Im up for it!!!!

I would be up for this as just been to Duxford which is the TG track for Wings & Wheels which had lots of cars having sprints up the runway which was great fun.
I do agree that numbers might be an issue although if we fix a date we can start penciling in our diaries as a Civic day to remember.

Personally, i don't think numbers is such an issue.
I don't want people hung up on numbers.
Trust me, many cars means 1 or few runs but equates to great fun due to the sheer crowd.
OR fewer cars means higher price but many more runs, which equates to great fun!

The charity will also have a win-win scenario as a result.

If we do any cars from any forum and no forums and milkmans mates aunts brothers half-cousin twice removed .... then what sort of Civinfo day are we left with. Trust me we just end up with some 'innits' ruining the day or worse causing an accident.

We will be representing Civinfo and will always be mindful of our forum and it's reputation.

At the mini event we were the last two cars left on site for well over an hour, no one was there and the circuit was empty. We joked about bezzing around but didn't. Why? Because we knew it would cause an issue and bad reputation for the forum and it's members.

Simples!

This post should be a sticky or a section in itself, probably lack of interest due to the post being lost!

Only had my CTR for a couple of weeks, so forgive me for not jumping in sooner. I think it sounds like a great idea and would love to come. Seems to be a few people from north of the border interested too so we could have a convoy

I need to give a charity name, so for now i will give Diabetes UK.
However, can someone find out if there is a comic relief, children in need etc thing on next summer - Please.
