Trackday 101
Did a search and I couldn't find much info.
I'm thinking of taking my car out on track next month, it'l be both mine and the car's first time out on track. Im basically looking for mechanical do's and dont's to look out for both before and after taking it on track. It's had a recent service but should I be budgeting for another service + brakes + possibly tyres after the day or does it depend on how hard it's driven? |

I'd always service (change the oil at minimum - check other service items) after a trackday - take oil for top-up. Check tyres.
Get insurance. |

like you say mate, depending on how hard you drive, and how long your on the track, brakes and tyres would be my only concern. have fun.

Hi
Its Steve from Grinspeed. To be honest I would seriously think of a baffled sump I wouldn' take a car on track without one. The rest of it is fairly straight forward give evrything a good check over on my customers cars I give them a quick oil change check the geometry and a quick spanner check before hand. It may seem a lot but your day can be ruined if something silly happens. Stevie www.grinspeed.co.uk |
