To try to get a good colour on a photo, set the white-balance manually on your camera in the car, then all pictures should come out with the correct colours. The only thing you will have to watch is exposure and blur. Try setting your cam to a high ISO setting to reduce blur. The pics may look a little grainy, but they should be OK. I wouldn't recommend a built-in flash photo, as they never look right.

Do EXs in the UK come with standard heated front seats? Is the "aftermarket" leather still possible with said heated seats?

Not with velour, but with the factory fit option leather you can have the fronts heated. You can't have 'Bespoke' with heaters, but with all my previous leather interior cars I don't think I ever used the seat heaters even though they were fitted, so personally I didn't see it as a problem.

The Golf I owned , prior to the Civic, had heated leather seats. And very nice they were, too, on a cold winters morning.

Interesting... Velour is standard on the (BE/LUX) spec' EX (if EX is the same as Executive, i.e. top spec), and the velour seats are heated, also as standard....

I guess the thing I had with heated seats is that you only need them when it's really cold; and when it's really cold you're wearing extra clothing (thicker jeans, jumper and probably a top coat) so by the time your feeling any benefit from the seat heater your at your destination, or everything has warmed up anyway. In addition seat heaters take a lot out of the battery at a time when it's on maximum demand from lights etc. But, as with everything, it's a personal choice. My last 'works' car not only had heated front seats, but rear as well; and they massaged your back. Ahh, my Lexus LS430; but I am sure I enjoy my Civic even more .

Have had heated seats in a least 3 cars in the past and they hardly got any useage at all. As Allan said they are a heavy drain on the battery and at a time of the year when it has lots of other demands on it anyway.

Guess we are all spoilt really, I recall my father's first new motor when a heater was an optional extra - he declined and stuck with the travel rug!

Bassa, Allan- Perhaps I did not make myself very clear... I'm going to get heated fronts whether I want them or not, but velour as Mrs. Maxbert didn't like the Civic leather (neither did I truth be told!).

Aftermarket leather I find interesting, especially having seen various photos here. My question is basically "Is aftermarket leather compatible with heated seats"?

Allan you traded in an LS430 for a Civic? Mrs. Maxbert would be sold into white slavery and Maxberts junior would be sent down 't pit if I thought I could help me getting one...

No, I didn't trade it in. I retired early and didn't want the expense of running a big luxo-barge and I fancied a change.

I don't see why the Bespoke leather won't be suitable if you already have heated seats. Why not check with Transform Leather?

Also, I think the leather used by TL is softer than the standard used by Honda and it is FULL leather, not just the seat facings. Al.

Actually I did check the TL website, but had no joy. I could call them, but I'm in Luxembourg, they're in the UK, so...

I know what you mean about fancying a change- I've been driving Espaces and Voyagers for nigh-on 14 years, by choice (I like big cars), but at the ripe old age of 38 I have decided that the Civic will be my mid-life crises car (cheaper than a mistress, Mrs. Maxbert opines!).

The pictures are a bit on the light side AL, but don't they do a fantastic fitting job. And that smell......

I reckon Civinfo should get sponsorship from TL .

Very nice AL56 - quality job, really makes the car special - and we have another 'Bespoke Leather Club' member.

My Grey/Blue appeared quite a bit lighter in the photos than in reality.

Did you have your done via the dealer or did you try to kill 6 hours in Rotherham?

Bassa. I had mine done at t/leather, yes 6 hours in Rotherham, but a pleasant change for the day, and a lot cheaper than the dealer.
by the way it was you who started me off on this path saw yours and very nice it is.

Leather gaiter?

I have just spoken to Transform to see if they had a pattern for a
gaiter to go around the gear stick. - They haven't yet , but I remember
someone else mentioning this, so has anyone else fashioned one?

thanks

Yes, if I had a manual I think I would want to have a leather gaiter, but on the i-Shift you have an extra embellishment that I think sets it off nicely!

Your's would look great with a dark red gaiter, can't they get one made up for you
