I find that you need to put the seats (Type S here, so admittedly different from the Type R) in what feels like an almost upright postion. It feels a bit odd at first, but you can drive for hours without any back or neck pain.

That's my favorite position also, but the then I have low gorilla factor (longer legs compared to the arms) so I always drove like that.
Seats (5d) bedded in nicely - after a year I find them firm yet very comfortable.

I suffered from a back problem last year where I had a slipped disk, now that was painful, I ended up in A&E.
The CTR seats are OK as long as you keep your back upright and not do what some people do and recline them like a bed! I travel 2 hours a day in mine, an hour each way to work and its fine. You have to get the right angle and seat height!

Today i spent 3 hrs in the car and after 30 mins .........hey presto no aches or pains and the seat seems to have moulded into the shape of my torso. It was rather comfortable now.One stretch of dual carriageway had just and was being resurfaced and the road was full of chippings I could have spit !!!!!!! I drove at 8mph and anoyyed the cars behind me and all the time i was thinking of the tar spots and chips as i could hear those bloody stones. Fortunatley no damage or tar spot !!

Same here. I'm short by Dutch standards (5'10") but have relatively long legs (gorilla factor: I like that. ). Most cars do not work that well for me. Luckily the Civic does.

I notice some real sad gits (boy racers) doing that... as if their vanilla Nissan or Ford suddenly becomes a performance hot hatch if they stare at the roof while driving.

The most important things is that there is no damage to your car who cares about the other drivers

I think you already have an acute problem with your back my friend. I'm 100kg (big boy) and I have no problem. Acutally I find them very comfortable and snug. Maybe you should try and use a small pilow for support. Or like our other friends mentioned change them, get the same as the Type-S and sell yours. Hope you find a solution to your problem. Back pain could be extremely painful and can keep you from doing things you really like.

Good luck!

Whenever I sit in someone else's car I feel like I'm gonna fall off the seat.

I LOVE my seats and have had less backaches since getting my CTR...

It's all about adjusting the seat right. It's not a lounge chair and if you try to sit in it like one it will be very uncomfortable...

Its a common FACT that most people suffer from back problems between the ages of 30-40. I did last year! Your disks start to dry out and you can end up with slipped disks, etc. Mine took around 7 months to clear up and apparently I was lucky?

Not sure what happens after 40? Its not the car seats to blame but old age! lol
