Now that is a bit much!!! For something which is basically a K&N in a bit of plastic/carbon fibre!

Supply and demand. Newly released items can fetch premium prices due to exclusivity.

Hmm. I was expecting maybe around the £400 price mark, but i think that is silly money.

Well i may stand corrected once we have some performace figures but IMO an induction kit for £680 isnt going to produce a good bhp/£ ratio!

Still quite sceptical of this news as when I last spoke to Hoya a week ago, he claimed that they were developing one, not that they had one ready for distribution. Have asked the supplier in the UK to forward me the specifics and pictures as I would be interested to see if they have not got it mixed up with an FD2 or USDM Si Kit.

to be fair, on a NA engine, there is no such thing as a good bhp/£ ratio when comparing to something like a VXR remap which will give you 60 + bhp for the same price as that induction kit

True, look at the new Golf GTI. For £500 you get an 80BHP increase and a whopping 105 lb/ft Torque extra.

Yep very true! I think the only way to increase power/torque gains in buckets for the CTR is going to be a supercharger.

Thats very impressive! That sounds like that £500 would be well spent!

Anyone thought of a VTEC controller??? You know the ones that sit in the cabin and you can change the VTEC settings. With one of these could you not theoretically tweak the VTEC for power output rather than economy on a 1.8 and improve the Vtec in the CTR???????

All the VTEC controller does is fook about with nothing more than the fuel and air.
People tried them on the EP3 and did not find much advantages.
The K series iVTEC engines are too intelligent for it.
The only way to lower (and higher) the VTEC point whilst getting a noticeable difference and advantage is a remapped ECU.

Stay away from them

The FN2 can be tweaked with the Apexi Neo. Which has a VTEC controller function within it. This enables you to get round the issues of the MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor that is in the induction chamber. The EP3's didn't have a MAF sensor, they worked soley on MAP. Hence why the Hondata KPro is utilised to program the ECU.

I have just had an email from Hoya and there is not one available. You were right to be sceptical!

The schedule of development for the FN2 was not arranged because there are no FN2's in Japan. He did say however due to the demand he will develop products for the FN2.

Will be a long wait tho i suspect.

There are FN2's in Japan that are being using for development. HKS have one at their HQ, hence why they have released the exhaust and induction kit. I can confirm that the communications went awry with the supplier and that they were actually quoted for an FD2, which makes more sense.

Agree, probably will be a long wait, until there are sufficient FN2's in Japan to warranty serious consideration.
