I have been trying BP Ultimate for the past 2 weeks and I believe its better than Shell V-Power. It seems smoother!
I was using V-Power for the last 3 months but got fed up with Shell as they kept screwing me out of my points, also unless you collect more than 300 points a quarter you wont get any rewards. Shell's helpdesk are also based in India and they're useless! BP always give you points were you can save money in Argos. I also still remember the time that Shell wreck thousands of engines with their fuel. On the down side BP Ultimate costs 5p a litre more! Last edited by cnicolini : 4th April 2008 at 07:00. |

I'm currently giving V-power a go.
First four tanks in my new car (done just over 1,000 miles now) were normal Shell unleaded (have avoided supermarket fuel for a while now and feel that my cars have run better for it) and I got between 30 and 31 mpg average for the tank. Thought I'd give V-power a go for a few tanks to see if I get any difference ...and so that the little un can get the Ferraris!. Filled up with 46 litres of V-power the other night and initial observations (after 90 miles) are that the car definitely seems smoother when cold, and possibly a bit keener when I put my foot down. Current average mpg is reading 32.9. Will report back as time goes on.... need to bear in mind though that the engine will still be loosening up at this stage so not sure how much of any change in performance / efficiency will be related to this rather than fuel. ![]() |
