Smile ABP Motorsport Camber Modification

After spending much of the new year having some nice blasts around Wales and Ireland, I noticed that the Type R's steering could be a bit vague at times, and tended to understeer. This understeer tended to be a touch worse when on the power which suprised me quite a lot

So a solution was required in the form of popping up to ABP Motorsport in Crewe to have adjustable camber bolts fitted

The lads there were very friendly and did the job while I waited which only took 2 hours. They changed the camber settings from 0'01' and 0'33 as standard to -0'50 and -0'51 with the new bolts

They also changed the toe by reducing it by 0.6mm each side

The result is fantastic far less understeer and a much more positive turn in. It really has given me more confidence in the front end and I seem to be getting more from the Yoko's in terms of feed back.

Would I recommend this modification - YES It's probably the best £135 I have spent on my car. Thanks to the lads a ABP - I'll see you when I've saved enough for a Milltech exhaust.

A modification like this would not affect your insurance, but you could let them know if you wanted too I suppose

Just a quick question:

Does it tend to oversteer now if you push it, still a bit understeer or perfectly balanced?

And if oversteer, do you get a big suprise from the rear blasting sideways uncontrolled? I mean if you really drive on the edge...

No its not perfectly balanced but its definately better. I've not had any experience of the rear getting out of control either. But I never had that before.

Its nice to hear good feedback about the hard work that we do.

Every Civic that we take a reading from is always out of spec and the
settings that we use transforms the feel of the steering and handling.

I havent had a customer say that it was a waste of money ever and it
also save alot of money on the tyre wear!
