Bikes don't equal sporty! I had a bike when I was younger as well as a Cooper S which I stood less chance of being killed in. Now the M3 I get to drive thats sporty, goes like stink without the added risk of some idiot not seeing me and killing me.
this reply from angie4m seems to imply that car drivers can't see other vehicles ie bikes and as far as sporty try your m3 up against my R1 anyday. |

Quite frankly I couldn't give a flying whats not about racing anyone in anything in MY CTR GT and I don't think my Dad would be too impressed if I damaged his M3 Convertible while Its in my care. As you have failed to pick up on my other part of the reply, BEING 23 I BOUGHT MY CAR BECAUSE I WAS EXPECTING AND A BIKE IS NOT PRACTICAL!!! This is/was a thread about the adverage age of the Type R owner, as far as I can tell you do not have a CTR so your input about US 21-23 year olds leaving cars until we are 'Older' is rubbish! Btw, what is older? 24? Last edited by angie4m; 24th February 2008 at 21:08. |

and I think we'll calm this thread down a bit please
If you think this comment is aimed at you, please re-read your previous posts and determine again if it does Statistically, riding a bike is more dangerous (to the rider) than driving a car. This is an unfortunate fact It has something to do with the rider themselves, but also a lot to do with the "sorry mate, didn't see you" brigade. And as an ex-bike rider (from the age of 18 till mid 30s) I can vouch for both parts of that from personal experience. As to which is more sporty - there are very few cars on the planet which can live with the top (probably) 30% of bikes. And exactly none which can if you take into consideration the cost. But having a bike as practical day in day out transport? I guess there might be a tiny percentage of bike riders who do - but not with kids on the pillion, and definately not with babies there. Horses for courses. If you want the buzz of high risk, incredible fun, buy a bike If you want the lesser buzz of a less sporty drive, buy a sports car But anyway, back at the average age thing... I'm not commenting as I haven't a CTR. But the only reason I'm not getting a CTR (OK, the main reason at least) is becuase Honda in their infinate wisdom deleted the centre rear belt - which I need. But I would have otherwise helped push the average up |

I'm 21, i went to uni for 2 months, the funny think is if i had stayed on i definately wouldnt have been able to afford a brand new type r! The careers people dont tell you that at collage, i bet by the time most of my mates come out of uni i will have an equivalent qualification and i will have been earning the past 3/4 years so wont be in thousands of pounds worth of debt! The system is messed up!

33 - My first Honda and I have now had it for 3 weeks. I'm so glad I didn't have this car when I was 21 - I'd have been dead in under 3 minutes...
