Im not a fan of that hks system, Dont get me wrong I can see why people like it and the quality looks 100% spot on, its just not what im looking for in exhaust system style
Also im not to keen on the info about the exhaust basically sounding like standard at low rpm and stationary. When I buy an exhaust I want abit of a note low down or i'll just end up raging it all the time just to hear it lol My interests are in the magnex cat back system i've seen one in real life and the quality is really good. its the the sound and power gain it makes i wanna know first before I commit to one |

From experience with Honda's the Magnex is to be avoided. Mid pipe is just as restrictive as the stock so all your getting is the tone from the backbox. What you then do if you like the Magnex tone is on the old Type-R's fit a Spoon B pipeand use the backbox only. |

I'm wondering what it would cost to get this out to Australia, or if there are any distributors out here...
It's nice that the TypeR is different from all the other Civics out here (we get the JDM for the rest of the range) but it means that aftermarket mods and upgrades are REALLY hard to come by... -H |

You should have local HKS dealers in Aus rather than shipping half way round the world.
If you having trouble call HKS direct in Japan as it will work out a lot cheaper. We do ship but it just doesn't seem worth it for the shipping costs if you can get it locally. As a guide we sell the HKS system for £636.20 Paul |

I love it, it really suits the Type-R. In my mind, the R looks best with stuff like this giving glimpses that under that chassis is a pure racing car trying to get out. Leave looking refined and sensible to the other Civics!

I really like the sound of this exhaust system as it sounds like stock until its really revved. Thats my one issue with the Milltek - It drives me mental to the point it gives me a headache (and i'm sure I give Si a headache saying that everyday we discuss the cars)
I'd really like the HKS if I could keep the original tail pipes......would this be possible at all?? |

BTW does anyone know how hard the HKS is to fit? Im thinking of doing it myself, but if it's too much hassle i'd rather pay Ín the end im not sure if I can handle the design of the tailpipes sticking out. I think it kind of ruins the design, it just doesn't do for my "artistic" eye. |

Si has the Milltek and although when I first heard it in February I thought it was great by the end of the weekend I was commenting on how it was a bit too loud all the time and it kinda spoils the V-tec kicking in.
I have contacted that site with the link at the start of the thread and they cannot supply and fit without the back pipes sticking out which is not what I am after at all. I have asked if I could get someone to alter it for me if they would fit it? I can't see it being a hard job, just need a bit space and I think i'd be able to do it myself (and my uncle owns a garage so could get use of that). I know I would be able too, I have done much more difficult jobs than this before (comes with doing motor vehical engineering at collage otherwise known as mechanics I do think though that the HKS tail pipes look much, much better than the ones on the Milltek. If I can't get the HKS without the tail pipes then I will just stick with the stock exhaust |

The design if the HKS would allow you just to cut the tail sections off with a hacksaw if you wanted to retain the OEM look. However, in doing so you would negate any warranty of the exhaust I reckon, and for circa £675 it could be an expensive mod should there be any issues with the exhaust. |
