Starting from cold Idle RPM

Have noticed when starting my Type R in the morning's it starts and idles at about 1800 RPM for several minutes, before gradually lowering to around 1500 RPM, then to about 850-900 RPM?

I know all cars rev a little until they warm up, but all my pevious cars never reved this high? Is this normal on a Type R?
