Type R front grille emblem

Hi does anyone have the dimensions of the front grill type r emblem is it the same size as the one on the boot or is it slightly smaller.

If someone could do a bit of measuring that would be brilliant.

Thanks

Ash

I would THINK it is not the same dimension.

Just measured mine for you, hope you follow this....

The whole thing is 13cm long..

The 'R' bit is exactly 1" tall

The 'TYPE' letters are 1.5cm tall each.

Hope that makes sense....

Thanks Mark

Thats exactly what i was looking for theres a website selling the emblems for the front but they seem to be a bit big. So i presume they are for the boot.

Wat website is this? There's not many of the FN2 grill badges on ebay either, and when one does come up it's gone before you know it.

Completely agree - we're all probably outbidding each other on ebay.

If a company could sell them at a reasonable price (it is only a badge afterall) then I'm sure there would be many buyers. Anything above £15 is a rip off for a badge IMO. £130 is absolute robbery from Honda.

Holdcroft had a front badge for sale a few months back, we tracked it and it went for something like £53 just for the badge before p&p The guy would have been better getting the side decals and grill badge kit for £61 or if they were a member of this site £58

The reason they charge so much for the kit (£130 for a grill badge and side decals) is because they remove the cover from the top of the grill, the trim and the bumper and grill in order to fit it, however some of us have managed to fit them ourselves without all that, but its a tight squeeze and i was bruised for days. So I think you'll find the price is justifyed by them having to do that to fit it.

Where else do you suggest? The middle of the windscreen perhaps?

Have you seen the badge before its on the car? It has very strong double sided tape on it, not mention two prongs that have to be held in place. They are too small for the bottom grill (which nobody will see anyway) and I'm baffled where else you would want it stuck?

Nah and you would have to smooth the back of the badge, its ridgid and won't bend, you'd have to find a flat, non curved surface and you'd have to apply it with some super glue or something. It wouldn't work! And if it was only on with double tape then it would eventually come off.

having seen yours i also decided to go down this route, tried the no more nails strips but it came loose after a day so its currently on with number plate adhesive strips.

What I did with the no-more-nails strips is make the strip cover the entire back of the badge then using a stanley-knife, just go around the perimiter thus covering the entire backing area of the badge. It's still on but if it gets nicked or flies off (which I doubt as it is really stuck fast) then i'll spend another whole tenner getting a new one. I would have to go through quite a few to have made it more expensive than buying the original kit.

I think the copy is better looking and sized than the genuine article.

Yes i like that idea.
I have recieved a genuine "rear" stick on badge and was thinking of sticking it on the front somewhere but i might try the grill first to see if it will fit ok. It's slightly larger than the standard grill badge but i think it looks better.

I've got a genuine rear emblem. I thought of a few places such as, middle of the bottom splitter/spoiler or the place shown on my pic or under the right fog light (viewed from the front as the rear is on the right too)

Can't decide and don't want to spoil the cars image, but i would like it to look different

Very prone to low life though.
On the grill, chances are, only the badge will be nicked with no damage, but on the paintwork, -- only a few quid for the badge lost, but a bumper respray needed. ?
