My New CTR !!!!!
Finally picked up my new NHB ctr this afternoon, loving it so much already. Ive just had a big grin while driving it, I also cant stop looking at it either, Im going on a road trip tomorow so i will get a good chance to drive in it heading up to work in elgin then through to inverness for the weekend.
Ive drove about 30 miles in total so far and ive had at least four idiots in golf GTIs and tarted up peugeots wanting to give me a race, I just let them race with themselves. Didnt think people actually done that. Anyway im enjoying my new pride and joy so far, will maybe see if i can get some nice pictures of it up in inverness. Ash |

Gave it a wash the other day but because im building a new (home) driveway for the car the dust and sand just makes it filty in a matter of a day. Will take some photos when theres not so much sand and dust going about.
Need to give it a good clean polish and wax then i will take some better photos. Angie what does Jings mean not heard that expression |

I've had my NHB for over a year....My washing plan was:
1st week, 3 washes wax and gloss guard...looked really "gid" Managed a pace of 2 washes / week for a couple months.....down to one, then winter set in........ The sun has been shining this week and I was just about to give it the full treatment, but he has to go back to his maker to get 3rd gear sorted. New syncro...and a couple of days work. Dealer gave me a 1.8SE as a courtesy car. I must have been getting a bit complacent about the CTR's go-kart handling. I could not believe how much the std car rolled thro' the corners....and no VTEC blast at 5.5K revs....Looking forward to getting the boy back tomorrow, with his new box..... |

Ive read quite a bit about the proper cleaning washing polishing waxing etc however still seems a bit daunting, whats the best products to use as there is millions went into the shop the other day looked at the endless rows of products and thought F--K that and left.
Any recomendations on products for the below i dont have no fancy machines so will be done by hand. Is it worth using the clay to remove stuff on a week old car and glaze products is it worth while doing that. Whatever i do i want to start protecting the paint as i have noticed a few very faint scratches and very very light swirl marks or maybe its a paranoid dillusion after reaing all the horror storys about the paint work. washing polishing waxing Thanks Ash |

Yeah still in Uganda at the moment! I think my Civic would cry if it was driven on the roads here!
Hoping to make it back for Milburn, but not holding my breath! Yeah will give you a shout when I get back!! I just wash mine using standard wash / wax shampoo, then chamois it off so its nice and dry, then go over it with Turtle Wax black polish, then just take a dry old cotton t-shirt and buff it up, going over any missed polish and water marks! Takes a while, but its worth it when she is gleaming!! Then I go back home, and it gets covered in dust from the building site! |

If you are looking for some advice, checkout this weeks AUTOEXPRESS. They have their product honors lost for 2008. Covers everything you need for your car. Specifically:
Car wash: Neilsen, triplex, Autoglym, Ubershine Polish: Collinite, Carplan, Halfords, Autoglym Wheels: Wonderwheels, Halfords, Comma. I use wonderwheels, which works a treat for the brakedust and Turtlewax nanotech for washing and a separate Turtlewax product for polish, followed by glossguard. Its easy to apply and helps the shine. Drying after washing is the real trick...... |

Yes, when it's got dust and dirt on it like that, don't even breath on it or you'll scratch it. |

My bad!!!!!!! it was more dust of my jeans that left the imprint, rather than the dirt that was already on the car getting moved around, anyway no excuses wont be making a habbit of it and theres no scratches at all so guess i was lucky, and i guess i will now take your entire life savings stella.
Thanks for the info on the products i will check that out. |

Is there a way that when you turn off the ignition and take out the keys the windows go up themselfs as sometimes i take out the keys the window will still go up or sometimes dosnt, also it sometimes dosnt go up when the keys are in but in the off position and other times it does. Cant figure it out.
