Unhappy Repair

Hi All

Just wanted to know if any of you guys know of any decent places that will be able to repair dents and scratches showing metal - around the west midlands, preferably around the Birmingham area.

Some kid on his mountain bike lost control as he was coming around the corner and my went into my CTR...scratched the passenger wing, side trim, and dented the door.

His mother is willing to pay for the damage - so need to get a quote.

I'm not in a happy mood right now, will post pics up if I can just calm down.

not sure if chipsaway would look at scratches down to the metal but might be worth giving them a call as they always get good reviews

Chips away should be able to do a good job - my Mum recently had her car damaged right down to the metal and plastics on her Silver BM and they did a cracking job and it was rather cheap too. You wouldn't notice that there had been any damage done in the first place.

Some Chips away guys can also repair dents, if they can't then they will always put you intouch with someone else who they recommend.

Really hope you get it sorted soon.

Just for info my Mum had a 4 foot by 2 and a half foot section sorted for £105 including VAT.

To tell you the truth I'm not worried about the money as I am not going to pay for it. The kids mother is - and so she should, mountain bikes are for driving on the road, not the pavement.

Indeed. Its against the law to ride a bike on a pavement no matter how young or old you are.

Hopefully she'll stump up no probs. You never know, she might turn round and says she's not paying for it all if its going to be a fortune, but then its not upto you to fix something that wasn't your fault

Chipsaway quote: £100 + vat for the scratches on the wing and wheel arch. The guy said that it will take him at least 3 to 4 hours to do the job as it's gone down to the metal. Oh he also said that Honda paint is the thinnest pain he has come across, so we're not all paranoid.

But he said he won't be able to do the dent and that dentdevil will be able to and said from looking at the dent it should be around £60.

Not bad - hopefully the woman will cough up when I go and show her the estimated quotes.

When I had my second civic (the one that constantly got scratched) I was pulling off my driveway thankfully I always pull out slowly as I have a big fir tree on the corner, a little girl came flying along on her bike straight into the front of my car, she came off the bike and damaged my bumper. I was so concerned for the little girl and made sure she was ok etc, I saw the damage to the bumper and was really fed up she rode off crying and a met up with her dad further down the road who was walking towards my house, he came over and because the little girl ws so visibily shaken I couldnt bring myself to say I wanted them to pay for the damage and the dad never mentioned it
