Polish Bridgestones have lasted nearly half as long

I replaced my 18" Bridgestone Potenza`at around 18,000 miles and at the time asked the Tyre supplier to just replace them with identical ones.

Now 10,000 miles later the new allegedly identical tyres are just about ready for replacemet.

Comparing the rear & front tyres I discovered that the Bridgestones that the car came with are made in Japan....while the ones the tyre centre put on are made in Poland.

In short I seem to have got around 8,000 less out of them....not happy.

Would it be worth worth contacting Bridgestone as this difference seems ridiculous.

I'd drop them a note, as they may be copies, this is happening more often has it got the correct approval marks for British roads????

There is a thread if you search on here relating to fake tyres being fitted by some tyre company's that are illegal for UK road use...... Warning! "Fake" tyres being sold (including Goodyear F1) I would still contact bridgestone, as they may be a different model or even have different characteristics depending on time of year......

ATB,
Tom

As said you should have a serial number on each tyre, it will be quite obviously on a clear oval backing, contact Bridgestone if you realy think you have a duff set

They will be able to trace if they are of approved/genuine manufacture!
