Unknownsoldier ......Respect you views man ...BUT ....The Ford Mustang was a true muscle car , and although i dont care much for the style now the older cars are ...ICONS ....sadly like most things .......The only constant .... is everything changes ....ON A STEEL HORSE I RIDE

The old ones yes, new ones no way, they are 'blubber cars' more than muscle cars, I mean all that engine and so little power, add to that no cornering ability and the cheapness of the plastic, not good, however I have heard good things about the Shelby ones

IMO theres a marketing battle between the new VW Scirocco and the type R FN2

Scirocco is cheaper than the Golf GTI [almost same as RGT now] and they are advertising it in the colour we all want the FN2 in

Reckon FN2 in champ white will be officially available by end of July - fingers crossed

The price is the big diff, the comparible car to mine in a Golf was IIRC about 8-12k more expensive!!!!! That was/is a big gap.

If the Scirocco is cheaper and equally as well equipped, I can see people jumping to VW purely because of the colour, I mena if your paying top whack you expect the car how you want it....

Hi, disagree with the performance of the new mustang, I have a friend who has one which I service for him, and boy does it go when you plant the pedal into the carpet, it pushes you into the seat and makes the most awesome V8 growl. But really his car is more of a cruiser which is what he uses it for, his last trip was a 'cruise' to the south of france in it!!!
As regards to the plastics, yeah typical American blandness and cheap feel. As for looks, yes I can see that it would not be to everyones taste, but my friend has not got no mechanical knowledge at all and the thought of an original mustang scared him a bit, hence why he bought new, all £28k worth. Cornering, well Americans don't 'do' corners.....

Where does it say that mate ? i doubt VAG would undercut there own Golf. i bet to spec it to the same level as a FN2 GT you're looking at >22k

The scirocco is a golf in a pretty dress with a lukewarm engine line up

got a mail from them 2 days ago £20940 so just under 2k dearer against the rgt, nice low co2 as well, think it comes with the 2zone climate and chassis control option as std, but would need to double check

regardless of it pretty dress and arguably lukewarm engine IMO its targetted at the FN2 just like the FN2 was targetted at the Golf GTi

quote...........

Check out pricing and full specification and explore the Scirocco in 3D on our new microsite. There's so much to discover; from its sleek, aerodynamic styling to its powerful, yet efficient, 2.0-litre 200 PS TSI engine. And so much on offer - sports seats, 18" 'Interlagos' alloy wheels, a touchscreen 6 CD autochanger and adaptive chassis control all come as standard.
