August's Top Gear Mag

Not sure how many subscribe, but in the new edition (August) of the TG Mag (has the BP Green ST on the front) the Lifer Type R has been to the home of the Honda BTTC team and there is a little write up about the kit they can provide to give an extra 45bhp over stock.

It seems to be kinds along the same lines as what you can do yourself, new exhaust, induction, ecu remap. Just wonder if their ECU remap is Honda Approved?

The guy with the lifer invested in a new filter I believe from them at just over £400 and he says he has had an increase in performance. Interesting, wonder if they will be going for the kit and then let JC re-evaluate the FN2?

£400 for an induction kit Wonder how much the remap is, or is it just a Hondata... Will have to have a read. Have you a web link to the supplier?

Lets be serious here if that an exhaust and a remap can produce 45bhp more then they will charge what they want.

Don't have a web link, it was just mentioned in the Lifer section of the Mag.

My brother-in-law subscribes to TG magazine and then I get them. I'll have to hurry him up a bit this month.

Well not much really....its not a review on the Type R if thats what your after. Its a boy who works for TG Mag and his company car is the Type R that JC thrashed about a week after the guy got it round the TG track and slagged it off.

Every month the guy tells you what he's been upto, the high and low points but not the kinda stuff your after unless your really interested in how well it shifted his stuff during a house move lol

It actually has a full page this month unlike the usual half a page. However the guy does say that when the Kit they can do doesn't make you look or sound like a 12 year old then he will be the first in the que.

I do sometimes wonder who they have working for them. Oh and its supposedly an Air Filter for the cracking price of £435! The pic looks like and induction kit, but hey

He was rather impressed but he also hired out one of those transits in the blue with the racing stripes, you know the ones

This month there is also a picture of a rather large tool chest on wheels in the rear too.

We all know the boot is big, thats one of the reasons I bought the car in the first place

Its nothing to look at thats for sure. I'm going for something that looks a lot better than the one in the pic in the mag.

He says he feels increased power with less noise than he expected but there are no dyno figures to say what the gain is.

Interesting that none of it is dyno tested yet - they are saying should be tested next week and then available to buy next month yet prices are released now. Seems a bit odd and unproven tbh.

ECU should be interesting to read about. Sounds a bit like a unichip.
