ABP put milltek on for me last fri along with K&N, Eibachs and FRS. this lot has transformed the car but not quite used to milltek yet - its really loud and rumbling from 3.2 to 4k revs mid throttle which beats your ears up ! good fun though driving a modded car

Well I got the Milltek on yesterday and I have to admit I'm a bit dissapointed. I imagined there was going to be a bit more noise to it but I suppose I need to wait and have the induction kit fitted. There was one other thing, now that the original exhaust is off I noticed that the Milltek exhaust tips sits a bit off centre when you look through the triangles. The garage said they did there best to get it centre but as the Milltek does not have the welded supports on the exhaust tips like the original it was the best they could do. Can anyone tell me if thats normal or are the garage at it
Cheers

Crumbs - I've put a bit more sound proofing in my boot and it's still too loud for me ! I'll put it down to my middle age !!! My Mum whose 75 loves it mind - she insisted I drive her to my house today at +7k RPM around the twisty 0.75 miler leading to my house so she could hear it properly !!! It seems its loudest to me from 3.2 to 4k revs.

As for centering the pipes, bear with me - I'd read that one or two people with Milltek's had experienced the tailpipe rattling against the triangular outlets when the exhaust heats up and expands. I mentioned this to ABP when they fitted mine and they applied their 'fix' to my car. The relevance of this re your centering issue is that when you look through the triangular outlet on my car, the pipes appear to be more centralised with c.30mm clearance all round from the 'opended up' rear part of the triangular outlet.

If you contact Dave at ABP he might be able to advise how you can do this - probably only involves a hammer and some welly ! It does look good though on my car.

I'm not saying its bad its just that I have a ITG induction kit and a full Milltek on my VX220 and well... the civic sounds tame. I'll give it a chance over the next few weeks to see if it grows on me, if not a bargain Milltek will be up for grabs
