Type-R Front Discs

I have been looking at few threads but cant find an answer i am looking for.
I Am replacing my pads with EBC yellow stuff. Do i need to replace my discs aswell ?
If so , i dont want to do a big brake upgrade, i just want to replace my standard discs with better ones, who makes these ?

Don't know if you need to change the disks as well but EBC also do disks for the Type R.

Standard, Turbo Grooved or Ultimax Sport Slotted

It all depends on how old the disks are. The Yellow stuff will eat through the standard discs quicker if your going to be going on track and braking very hard, very quickly. If the discs have already done a fair distance on the standard pads then I would be replacing them with the EBC discs, which are designed for these pads and you don't have to do the big brake upgrade. Just means your discs will be better for you.

Last thing you want is to have to replace them in a couple of months because they are too worn. Discs being too worn will also impact the stopping power of the car and the pads.

Not sure about the fitment as the brakes on the FN2 were slightly bigger I believe. But if I were you I would be going for the Turbo Groved and drilled dicss if you can afford them as they will cool quicker than the standard ones. There is nothing wrong with the standard discs again it all comes down to how and where you are going to be using the brakes.

There is a EBC thread on this site where you get a 15% discount but you can also contact EBC direct to get the part numbers, also ABP sell them too so Dave would be able to help you out with those questions a little bit more. Just send him a wee mail and i'm sure he will do his best to get back to you.

"Civic V-TEC TYPE-R 2001" is EP3. Your CTR is FN2. EP3/FN2 have exactly the same front brakes. But be carefull, only front!!! Rear ar different.

I think EBC TG discs are better solution for CTR.
