Two Type-R questions

Waiting for my Type-R to arrive.
But I have 2 questions for you current owners.

1) Who else thinks the factory 18" alloys are a bit dissappointing ? I mean, they look good, but on a car like this you would expect something extra. Like the Storm or Altimo's on the option list, or even better the ones on the yellow concept of last year
So how many of you went with other 18"'s ?

2) I came across the gallery of the TypeR/S introduction made in Portugal with the silver TypeR. I clearly shows headlight-washers, but the current brochure I have here doesn't say anything about this. Are those reserved for mainland europe only like the HID Xenon headlights ?

Nonetheless, I'm like a kid 2 weeks before Xmas

1, I agree, I think they're abit naff... If they was 19" then they would of looked good. Im gonna get after market 19's so no worrys.

2, No xenon option for the Type R from Honda (Yet?) Only after market, which is one of the things on my list to change. oh, and head light washers, I think there's non.

The brochure does show Xenon as standard on the GT here in the Netherlands.

O well, have to wait and see I guess. Even my dealer wasn't sure. Honda doesn't seem to tell them everything also. He even thought the TypeR would come in all the colors the Type-S would. I had to tell him it was only 4 colors

O, one more thing. What are the factory tire's on the Type-R ?
Bridgestone Potenza ?

I quite like the look of the standard 18" wheels although I did prefer the ones on the last Type R (EP3).

I'm actually not that keen on the 19" Rage option. I think the standard alloys in a 19" diameter would have been ideal.

I was under the impression that HIDs would only be available in Europe and that all cars with HIDs had to have washers. There are no washers on the UK spec. car as far as I am aware.

UK Type R - no HID available, and therefore no washers either

Non-UK Type R - appear to have HIDs either as standard, or at least as an option.

there is a thread elsewhere in here about it - but seems strange choice by Honda

Aftermarket HIDs - fine - if you want to risk invalidating your insurance...
there is another thread about that too - in the Lights section from memory.

Having seen some pictures of the 19" rages fitted to delivered cars, I think the design is too open showing far too much of what is going on behind the wheel and the brake discs don't really fill the space well enough.

Yeah I changed my wheels within an hour of getting my ctr the standard 18s don't do the car justice my car looks so much better now. I was going to go for 19s but driving 18s is a bouncy enough experience.
