Thank you Bog. I had read your posts but the infos and the schema of the connector (as in the image) are definitive? And there is a "guide" to reach the connector without destroying the dash?

I'm thinking to add a long distance infrared camera in front of the car with regulation for zoom and wide and a little circuit for controlling the zoom by speed. When you need it just turn on a little button (as seen in Mercedes and BMW) as a sort of added light system. I think that the good position of the screen (quite high) is ideal to use a system like this.
Let me know what you think. And if it's interesting for you...

Sounds good! I've got a number of ideas, mainly revolving around a carpc installation (something like this in the glove box

As for getting the to the back of the Navi unit, I'm afraid it's a case of taking the glove box apart. I've been a bit busy lately to try myself, but I don't think it's that hard!

When I do I'll let you know.

I had speak with my local Honda dealer and he said 2 great news:
- Honda is near to release a TV module for the sat nav system
- Someone is modifying the circuit that is in the DVD SAT NAV reader to permit the quartz to read DVD video directly !!! Hope they are able..

Stay tuned.

unless it's incorporated with an upgrade which will only enable it to be played whilst the engine is off, I wouldn't be holding my breath...

Yeah, TTDegs is right, I doubt very much Honda will do this. They have the (very expensive) i-ves system for playing DVDs.

No, no boys. I said that Honda will make a TV tuner!!!
But the change in the DVD player are made by someone else.
These are info that the dealer said to me without asking him nothing about.
Of course i can't say that they are true infos but only if they went true one day i'll post the news here.

sorry duca, my misreading

but the same actually applies - it's currently illegal to have a TV / DVD screen where the driver can see it when the car is in motion

Audi do this (or did when I last looked) by having a TV tuner option that only works while the car is stationary.

No problem TTDegs, i know it's illegal and not only but Higly dangerous in fact i ONLY intend to use it with the car stopped and nothing else to do. When I drive i like to drive no else.

I'd be quite surprised if Honda built a TV tuner for the NAV system but very impressed! Another nice toy but only when stationary.

It is made by Alpine for Honda, and is very similar to some of the systems available to buy, but it doesn't have a model number as such.

Some good news for the TV and DVD player. A boy in Italy had an offer by an Honda dealer to put an Honda system for TV tuner for 750 Euro and the possibility of playing DVD for 350 Euro. Stay tuned.

I'd certainly be interested in adding a TV to mine if the price wasn't too bad. Even if it will add more weight!

Now it's official. In the Italian site there are now a lot of multimedia options including digital TV & DVD player (1350Euro).
Look here:
http://www.honda.it/car/content/inde...ullscreen=true
then select:
Configuratore
Honda civic (any)
accessori
suono
and scroll the list on the right.

Not offical Honda accessories though are they? They seem to be offering something like Nav-TV hooked up to a DVD/TV Tuner, which we can do ourselves already (Very Expensive!).
