Angry Test Drive Cancelled

Had a test drive booked for Sunday and was looking forward to getting my first taste of the CTR, (especially after reading the posts on here).

However got a call from the dealer today cancelling it, reason: one of the staff had taken it home over night and have rung in sick, now they can’t get hold of them (more like there out enjoying themselves).

Will have to wait until later in the week now to get behind the wheel, if they have it back.

Asked them was it an unaccompanied test drive? They say that they don’t do unaccompanied on the ctr, are they pulling my plonker on this? – I want to enjoy the car and have fun, not have a salesman sat with me.

Well moan about the inconveinience and disappointment of having your drive cancelled i am sure then they will sort out a drive on your own. My dealer said the same thing till i moanned at them, I had ordered a car though before the drive so im not sure if this made any difference???

they have a sales man coming out with you because back few months ago, they let some customer go out in a S2000 and they written it right off, so they now introduced a new insurance so they have to go out with customers for CTR S2000, but the rest of the range of cars your aloud to go out on yourself.

Thats wrong as i went out on my own and i know other people who have too, you have just got to be persistent in asking!

Thanks for that insanojackson, will be very persistant won't want to place an order until i've had it out on my own, will also play on the fact that they spoilt my weekend by cancelling, not exactly confidence inspiring!

insanojackson is right.

Keys handed over and left to own device. Whatever route I wanted too.

I did have my fiance with me on the test drive (and I am 46 ... maybe I don't look the typical Boy Racer ), and was asked if I minded only having about 1/2 drive (other customer wanting to test drive), but had no hassle... just handed keys over. They did that last year too , with a back to back test drive of 1.8 and 2.2cdti.

BTW That's Lincoln Honda. I would certainly recommend them. Will be back there about June to see what deal I can do on the CTR.

Basically if you look like you might go speeding, or driving like an idiot, they'll almost certainly send someone in with you.

Great news, got a call from the dealer today, they have the car back and my test drive is back on for tomorrow.

Just need to work on getting them to let me out on my own now.
