Order and allocation query :
Dealer has just been on the phone advising Honda have held their allocation dates as a result of over-supply / too many orders ?
Mine was ordered on March 17th and advised delivery mid-May early June, Now no dates are available - What's that all about ? Talked to Honda Customer Service and they advised that allocation currently outstrips supply ! ? ! I'm somewhat confused, |

I dont think its over-supply, merely i think they have taken on as many orders as they can handle without lead times going through the roof. Obviously all the cars built from septemberish have run out and Honda have said to hold off on accepting orders for a few weeks. It was bound to happen they way people seem to be snapping them up.
Still havent seen any others tho! |

From my experience any delivery date given for more than 2 weeks in advance is completely pointless other than maybe to let you know which season it may be delivered in.

Taking the popularity of the Civic into account I wonder why I haev seen very few of them on the road?
Let's hope that in a few years time we are not as common as Mondeo's or 3-series Not holding my breath though. |

Seems very odd what has been said. It is true that the dealers have limited allocation of cars, but provided they are within their allocation they should be able to tell you an estimated delivery date to the dealers as soon as they order it.
I have just ordered, don't need to pick up until July and the dealer put the order in while I was on the phone - it initially wouldn't guarantee him a price but he got a date straight away. He went away got the price sorted and confirmed. I'd push it if I were you given my experience! |
