Visibility dash/display

The Civic's dash is one of the best looking out there. No doubts there.

But.....Last couple of days, we've had a lot of sunshine. I found that especially the airco/cd display in the middle is difficult to see when there's so much sunlight. The red lighting seems too low on intensity. Even with the dash-intensity knob at 100%. With sunglasses on, it almost completely unreadable.

The problem is less on the digital speedo, and even less on the rev indicator etc.

Doesn't the normal Civic (I like to think out CTR's are nowhere near normal ) come with blue/white light instead of red ?

Hi,

I agree with you 100% that the civic dash is very nice. That was one of the things that I really liked about it.

Yes I have noticed the problems with glare the past few days as well. Mine is a 2.2 EX and the worst effected by the glare is the clock and climate display on the dash. The SAT NAV screen is ok since it is quite bright and the speedo and rev counter are ok but could be better. I found that I couldnt read the clock display at all sometimes.

Personally i dont look that hard at the dash...

The 3 things i look at most are...the revs, the speed and the rev limiter...

And thats about it...

the rev counter in my r is basically non existent as it is obscurred by the steering wheel so i just let the rev limiter tell me when i'm i vtec mode.

That's funny because the steering wheel is more in front of my speedometer then obscuring the rev counter. I've adjusted my steering wheel just a bit so that I can still see the speed, but only just. The rev counter is clearly visible for me.

Guess it all depends on the seat position and how tall one is.

seat setting as low as you can go for the feel factor and i am 6ft tall
the steering wheel is covering the speedo!!!! how the hell is that happening you must be 2ft tall or something and cant see how you could get that obscurred????????????with the steering wheel.
