Gearbox, Enginestart .. any Problems?

Hi,

i'm from Germany (sorry for my poor English) and i have ordered the new Civic Type-R to. I think i will get the Car allready next week To spent the time i'm reading all of information about this car. The first german FN2-Drivers writes about some Problems with the third Gear. It scratches and makes loud noises but doesn't gets in.

Second Problem that they have is to start the Engine. At some conditions to push the startbutton doesn't works.

Do you have this Problems? Do you have any infos from your Honda-Dealers how to fix them?

no probs with the engine start, had problems with 3rd gear, slight hesitation when engaging 3rd gear when the engine was cold.

Ive done 1250 miles and its all sorted now. The gearbox is very smooth and slick gear change, Must have been part of the running in period

It does happen sometimes that the car doesn't want to start when pushing the engine start button. Nothing happens really, you just have to push the button one more time and then it usually starts. Maybe not all cars are the same as mine...

Only happened to me once in 1 month. Just hit Start again and it will fire. Don't believe this is a problem. Had the same a couple of times in a Laguna.

3rd gear get's smoother and smoother. Haven't missed a shift for many days now. But it feels different then all the other gears for sure. Perhaps it's in my head. If I hadn't read about it here I probably wouldn't have known.

No problems with fuel-filler cap too

3rd gear is a known problem on CTR..and Honda now acknowledge the issue. My car goes in for new syncro fix on Tuesday. Car will be away for a couple of days..I'll let you now if it works. As for the starter. Interesting I thought it was only me. MAybe once in 100 starts the starter just whines. I just give it a 2nd go and its fine. I am not worried about this...Maybe I should be!!!

Had a problem with 3rd gear grinding but only very occasionally. Now having done just under 4000 miles it seems to have disappeared ( i hope )

Never had a problem starting. Push the red button and away we go every time

Never had a problem with the start button. Engaging third can still be an issue from time to time (after 7,800 miles)
