Does anyone elses cooling fan kick in almost as soon as car comes to a stop? (Type R GT)
When I park on the drive to let wife and kids out it is kicking in - car hasnt been driven hard just at normal speeds

I've noticed in both my CTR and part ex 06 SE that the fan sometimes kicks in after about 2mins of idling, especially after a long drive.

Sounds perfectly normal to me. When the car is moving, the air moving past the radiator is usually enough to do the job. At a standstill, it needs a little help from the fan to cool things down properly.

If this is correct, then be VERY careful in the engine bay (e.g. checking oil) if the engine is hot.

I would say its definetly the A/C, mine nearly always starts off first thing in the morning when the A/C is on. Switch it off and the fan stops...

If the Type R is like the Type S, there are 2 cooling fans.
1 of them ran even if I just turned the ignition on.
I queried this with the dealer and he said that if the AC is on, this fan runs most of the time.
And don't be caught out like I was when I said to the dealer that the fan ran even with the AC off, the AC is only off if the Climate Control Screen says A/C Off. If it is blank, it means the AC is On

I was wondering this same thing, too. but when I turned the air con off I figured out it wasn't the cooler fan.
