Mr Clarkson, not a fan I agree.

But surely writing like that will make Honda go , Oh dear!

And then they will be encouraged to make it that little bit better!

The power of the engine does seem a little disappointing compared to the competition.

I like Clarkson and I like Top Gear but this is a man who spends half his life pounding across Europe in V12 Astons, Ferraris and Lambos. Then you`re asked to test drive a Civic. You have to put things into perspective and these are just his opinions. His views on the ride I don`t agree with and the rear spoiler issue has been blown out of all proportion.
IMO, pound for pound there isn`t much better on the road!

Clarkson is indeed showing his age more and more.

He can't get Radio2. Who cares, you just plug in your Ipod or MP3 cd's.
He can't adjust the seat in steps of 1 mm. That would mean you have to readjust everytime you wear a slightly thicker pair of pants, and you really wouldn't want to.
He can't see out the back. Who cares, and it's really not that bad.

The suspension is perhaps the only area where he might make a point, but come on it's a hot hatch. And after long bumpy trips, I'm not wasted by far. Honda would do good however to bring back wishbones in the rear.

Top gear website put the CTR on the number 1 spot in a range of 30 Hothatches. Clarkson isn't right all the time. Look at the cool wall.

I'm very surprised about Mr. Clarksons review

I love Top Gear TV show, but it seems that he is really getting old

I drove some special Typer-R on Leipzig autoshow, this one had suspension from H&R and they said it was more firm than standard one and I loved it!

And I don't understand this complaints about rear spoiler. It's not an issue at all!

But as THX1138 said much important is that for Stig is Type-R nr.1 HH ! I don't know who Stig is, but I will trust him this time

He stated at one point that he liked the standard version, thats not true, he pretty much rubbished that when he reviewed it.

I wouldn't worry unduly about JC's review - just regard it as entertainment. I enjoy his stuff very much but don't agree with most of it!

I hardly ever agree with with Clarksons Reviews no matter what car he tests.

But I do think he has a point in saying that why did Honda just use the same engine as the previous type r. I think they should of upped the anti like others and have an engine kicking out nearer the 240bhp mark.

It's always comforting to see your own car choice vindicated by journalists. But where did the concept of trying stuff out and making your own mind up go to? If all journalists were right, we'd all drive the same car. Luckily many are wrong (or just trolling), including JC who famously didn't like the 911 because the radio was in the wrong place...

We must remember that Top Gear is really an entertainment show.I like JC I find him witty and funny however,it doesn't mean that I have to agree with everthing that he says. The article is wordy and tries to be "controversial" and as another poster put it some journos are indeed trolling the public.
The Civic Type R is about to arrive in Australia and i can't wait for a test drive.Just last week I bought a copy of the May issue of "WhatCar" magazine and it pitted the Civic Type R with the Golf GTI,Madza 3MPS and the Leon Cupra(Which we don't get downunder)-result -the mag. chose the Civic Type R.
There you go.
I think in a law of physics it states that "For every force there is an equal and opposite force acting upon it".For every "bad" review on the Civic Type R ,I can find a good one.

And if enough people act on those bad reviews, we won't see a Type-R on the roads every 5 minutes, which is good.
Almost 2 months now since I got it, and I've yet to see another one.

Maybe I don`t get out enough but I`m still to see a new Type R on the road, which is bizarre considering the bloody amount of time I`m having to wait for mine to arrive. Maybe our friends in the land of the tulip are snapping them all up!!

Well finally been given a concrete date of June 24th, four weeks later than first quoted. So when she does turn up it will have been 14 weeks in total, which I suppose isn`t too bad. I feel ( not literally) for a close mate of mine who ordered a silver rocketship ( same as yours) and he`s been given a date of mid July. Suffice to say he ain`t too impressed!!

Had a real good chat to the dealership in Croydon today, where we ordered from, and apparently demand is so high for the CTR with Sat Nav + HFT that new orders on this spec may not be delivered till November/December. But if you wanna CTR without the Sat + HFT then it`s a 6 week delivery.

All due to Honda`s ridiculous batch ordering process.

Anyway 21 days and counting

If you don't ask....you don't get, could always threaten to pull the plug and use a different dealer! Depends what you had in mind really.

They knocked £375 off for the paint and threw in the mats ( £90) for free, so saved £465! Not great but the dealers don`t feel the need to budge too much as orders are stacked up.
My dealer assured me that June 24th was set in stone but we`ll see. Apparently dealers get a call from the factory 10 days before every delivery, so if you don`t receive a call on June 14th, you know what!!
Fingers crossed eh?

Hi Spidey - I've been given 25th June as date of delivery by Honda to Croydon - so my pick up will be 2/3 days later.

Is 24th your actual pick up date - can't remember are you getting yours from Norbury or Croydon.
