Very well written and to be totally honest confirms what I've heard from other sources. Our UK car=Great JDM car=Better still.

Choice quotes:-

Quote:
Olly and I find ourselves a decent road and play a quick game of cat and mouse, with Olly chasing in the British car. Unfortunately the cat seems to have got its tail caught, because I drop him like he’s standing still.
Quote:
Swapping back to the UK car, and the reasons for my rapid progress in the Japanese become clear – following Olly through the bends you can see that not only can you brake later in the JDM car, you can come off the brakes earlier, carry more speed to the apex and then get back on the gas even sooner at the other end. Basically, it’s better in every part of the corner and, to really try your patience when you’re chasing, even quicker down the straight. The difference is quite amazing and I’m forced to work very hard to keep up.
Not trying to annoy those UK Type-R owners (I do like the UK car), but be happy at least that its another Honda showing the way and the chances of you meeting one on the road are very slim?

Interesting comparison. I wonder where the US Civic Si Coupe fits between these 2. Then you'd have a full worldwide comparison of the 3 hottest Honda's around (apart from the S2000 which is in a class of it's own).

Sadly though, if the model you like most isn't available where you live, you simply go to the next on the list. That's why I went from a 7th gen Coupe to the 8th gen CTR. They stopped selling the Coupe in the EU. Simple as that.

Does that make we sad ? Perhaps a bit. I think the JDM CTR looks awesome, and Coupe's are always my favorite. But that's life and my CTR still does what it's good at. Delivering huge loads of fun. Yes the ride is rough, and yes it tries to play with all the gadget-cars around the block, but there is nothing available in the EU that does what this car does best as a whole.

Good to know my saloon which looks exactly like the JDM car except for the spoiler handles so well. I knew this anyway (mine is built in Japan too)
Now i dont have type r suspension but it rips through corners anyway like I knew a long wheelbase would, so responsive and darty!
Yes, I wear the civic smile and everybody is in my way.
Ill have to read the full thing now.

I just know I bought the right car, my first Honda.
Now Ive shot myself in the foot a bit, I cant ever buy a non performance car again.....hmm this is gonna be expensive!!

I don't agree with the description of the ride and the fuel figures are miles lower than I achieve, but the descriptions of engine response and handling sound spot on!
