dealers

when i first decided to upgarde my 2.2cdti to a type r it was the dealer who would only offer me 12k on a car i bought from them new a year earlier for £17k and them who would have it on the forecourt a week later for £15k, so in my opinion the dealer does a fair amount of stiffing as do they really need to mug off by 3k on a car they could turn around bearing in mind i / family have spent nearly 80k with this dealer in the last year ! so yes i do play on the POOR dealer for extra discount etc. and the sport is now going to my wife .

It is Honda UK!
One and the same - they can't really operate without each other (Unless Honda's decides to sell it's cars at Tesco's).

As Greedy said, the dealers are the public face of Honda!

Buying a car is quite a bit different to buy a washing machine!

It's not really the dealers fault though, they can't make Honda make the cars any quicker.

Lol - I'm sure Honda would be impressed - just couldn't think of another analogy on the spur of the moment.

It's not necessarily the dealer's fault...

If however, they 'massaged' the date back from an original Sept 23rd to Aug 10th, in order to secure the Cooper which they knew they had a customer for...

Then that wouldn't be good

There is also the following possibility:
illegal in the showroom on (say) May 1st - "I want to order an CTR, here's my deposit "
Salesperson - "nice one, we'll order that today (clicking of keys) - that'll be Aug 23rd "

2 weeks later -
salesperson 1 to salesperson 2 - "how's that CTR order coming along?" "d'oh! I knew there was a car I meant to order " (frantic clicking of keys)
"Booger - it's showing Sept 23rd!"

And, of course, the 'It really is Honda's fault' option

But I doubt we'll ever know for sure
