A 17-week wait does not sound insanely outrageous for the Type-R atm - one guy waited 20 weeks. If I get my car on 16 Sept, I would have waited 16 weeks. Fingers crossed! There is a chance your dealer might have pre-ordered a few Type-Rs back in May/June, so that's why you won't have to wait as long. You may want to ask him if this is the case. not sure how it will look having front and rear splitters and city pack with standard alloys. I will probably change them for another set of 18" rims, I really don`t want 19" wheels,(must be getting old) |

I was told by my dealer that there was such a high demand for the type R,
the only way that Honda UK would release a car to the dealer if they had a customer number to place against the order. A few dealers could have cars from canceled orders (i did think about canceling once or twice myself) |

If they can`t give you a chassis number, delivery probably would be delayed |

Check deliverys from different dealers
If you want the quickest delivery it is always worth checking delivery times from different dealers. They seem to work on a quota allocation to each dealer.
Mine was quoted at 8 weeks for a CTR |

There are two factors
1. How quickly Honda can make them (or in reality how quickly they WANT to make them...) 2. Deal quota. John Banks in Cambridge (where mine is picked up next week) are only apparently allowed to register 2 CTRs per month, regardless of how many they order. |

Enjoy boys!
Fly out tomorrow for two weeks in the sun (I hope).
I'll look forward to reading all about the lucky ones when I get back. Just had a thought................ Have we any girls with the Type R? Good Luck everybody. |

Took me just over 16 weeks to get mine...
Was told when I ordered that it would be 7 weeks, then that became 11, then 14 & finally 16. Bloody annoying! Quite like the car now though!! |

Just phoned up the dealers about ordering.
If I want the Night Hawk Black or Milano red then they can get this car in b 30/11/07 But if I want the Deep Bronze Pearl (which I have my heart set on) - they said this would be special order and would be 20 weeks!!! |

Just joined up to this fine forum
Interesting lead-times for the R, best get my order sorted for my company new company car. Wonder how long my lease company will have to wait? I spoke with a dealer today and they told me that they get an allocation of Type R's and when they are sold they are sold. John |
