What's the betting on the leadtime for delivery? Bristol Honda where its coming from have suggested 1st week in December.

Any comments welcome! (Superb forum by the way!)

Thanks
Hope you get your car on 1st December!

Even if your car is delayed don`t cancel,
I waited 17 weeks on mine and it is well worth the wait!
The Type R is incredible! from road holding, to power, to all the gadgets!

You are going to love it

My dealer, Chathams in edinburgh actually showed me the est delivery date that Honda were quoting, infact I watched him place the order. They wrote it on the order form advising that delivery was expected 31st October. They also gave me a print out of the Honda Lead time for the car, which I still have.

I ordered mines at the start of August and I have been advised by the dealer that it is now due for the week ending 21 October. They said that they would like my retention docs for my private plate asap, but I have told them that until they have chasis number and confirmed delivery date they aint getting it.

There was a guy on here the other night who ordered his Type R on the first of October also, but according to Honda thats for the 1st of March 2008!

That seems about right seen as two weeks after I placed my order in August the waiting list was at the end of December delivery. Either your dealer has had a cancellation or they are spinning you a line.

Even if you speak to Honda Customer Care, they are advising its well into next year now for a CTR being ordered.

I don`t know why they would ask for your retention document before they had the car?
My plate transfer was done in four working days by the dealer (Phoniex Honda Stirling)

According to them it can take upto 2 weeks to have the transfer done (I would think this would be when the DVLA are busy like for the 1st of September and March) Jings it only took the DVLA to take the plate off my old car and send me al the new docs (retention and V5)

Girl I spoke with has advised that they will take it to the local office (which is 5 mins away) first thing in the morning when they have everything and get it done the same day. Even more reason for not giving them it yet, plus the salesman I am dealing with lives not too far from me so I will jus hand it in to him.

Blimey thanks guys - very helpful replies. Its a lease car and my company wont accept delivery during December it turns out - this is because it will affect the post lease auction value (i.e. the difference between a 07 57 and an 08 57 when it comes to give it back).
This means that if it does turn up at the dealers in December I have to wait till the first week in January before I can get my mitts on it
Interesting to see that delivery looks like its March next year and not what I've been told!

Really hope it is due in for December (but it maybe the last week in December as thats what was being quoted the week after I ordered mines) At least if its at the dealers then you know its there.

I just hope that the dealers and the lease comp have come to an arrangement as on the back of the Honda order form it states that you must pick up and pay for the car within 21 days from the day they take delivery of it, failing to do so will mean that they cancel the order and sell the car to someone else.

I am being really sad, but I have gone over the very, very small print on the back of my order form incase anything untowards was to happen with the delivery of the car. Dont want them trying to wriggle out of it lol!

I noticed the my dealer has said that mudflaps on the type r are n/a, but if you check the optional extra list in the book Honda have them there.

Its an optional extra, your dealer can't stop you from getting them on your car bought with your money

Well i'm just having a look at the type r price list and on the 3rd page, 3rd from the bottom it quotes Front and rear mudguards £100. Maybe thats why they are playing stupid, everyone is asking for mudflaps not mudguards lol!

Not sure how many folk have the price list as I got mines sent to me by honda as the dealer had nothing on it!

I should hopefully have a confirmed date this week and that date should be for the week after. Yeeha!

According to both the Normal Civic and CTR price list they are both stated as MUDGUARDS, probably because MUDFLAPS are flexible, but MUDGURADS are not

Hmmmmm, dunno about others but i've been waiting 12 weeks now and there is still no confirmed delivery date. I know for sure that about a week to two weeks after I ordered mines I got a phone call from the other dealer I had spoken too who advised me that the list was now back to the end of december and if I wanted one I would have to act fast (that was not knowing I had ordered from their other branch)

Also on the phone to Honda Customer Care last week about trying to get an update on my CTR as the salesman is off on Holiday and they advised that the waiting list is well into the first quater of next year (they advised this before they knew when I had placed my order) so if it was recently placed then they would not be able to tell me.
