Type R vs Type S CTDI ?
Hello there people,
Need some advice am seriously in contention of getting wither the type R or S 2.2 CTDI. My concerns are the following: Type R : high fuel consumption - low torque - high KW Type S : low fuel consumption - high torque - low KW Am i right in saying that lets say 80 - 120 km/h the type S here would qute frankly easily pull away from the Type R. Cause I am not sure in Europe there is space for traffic light to traffic light racing. Then there is the TYPE R novelty? Another thing is messing with my mind is that the diesel type S is the same price here as the R in Croatia which I am a bit upset about.... What do you *** think? G |

If you have the money for the typeR i wouldnt even hasitate! Not compareable those two engines really, and the suspensions setup, gearbox, interiour etc... Allso the R looks a bit more raw i think...
If your looking for a more lazy and confy ride, better aftermarket price and dont need the top end thrilling power, you should consider the diesel. And with the R reving above 5200 o/min, you couldnt pull away from it in a 80-120km/h sprint with the diesel, no way... What is the price difference really? Ok, it really depends on your preferences then, like image, sound, economy etc..
But yes i have tested the 2.2CDTI and was impressed by its raw pull in the mid range 3rd-4th gear, overtaking can be done without thinking about wich gear youre in or your rev-meeter is showing... Over here, the R is 20% more expensive (hp taxes) but im still having it |

U see this is the thing loner trips to the coast I am thinking I will be spewing from my wallet to fill it.. AAAhhh I will see what I decide... What Type R you getting colour and spec....I really like that dark bronze |

I see I will have a hard time at the dealer deciding.....on easy rides does the Type R engine drink a lot ? cause the CLIO RS does by default. |

Yes looks and preformanceare quite important factors, can take a few "bumps" in my ass then
Think they say 0,9l/10km from the specs on mixed driving, but as soon as the VTEC starts kicking in a few times, then.... |

I really wanted a Type R but have settled for a Type S.
I do over 20K miles a year, so decided a diesel was the way forward.... I'd be broke with the Type-R! Plus the insurance is lots cheaper, as is the road tax for the Type S. |
