Question how do we make our type R faster

Ok... just a quick question... if you had say a spare £500 to spend on your type r....and all you were interested in was more bhp....what are our options.... it seems to me there is very little

But i am hopeing I am wrong.... It's easy with a golf mk5 gti...you just get it chipped to 260bhp....

Type r must have some options ?

different air filter, or you could get a CPL KPRO remap for £650... if you find a spare £150 - try selling your misses on eBay

I gues with a 2l NA engine with 200Bhp from factory, i guess you have a problem here... Unless you want to spend some more cash... The CPL Kpro would add an 20bhp extra maybe?

well selling me misses on ebay would always be a option...I wonder how much she would fetch ???...

The CPL Kpro....just a normal re-map is it ? interesting...20 bhp...that would be quite tempting !

Its a data-remap, wich you can tune many parameters of the engine yes. Depending on who does the mapping and how good its done you can tweak the engine in many ways, but if you want your top end bhp could be increased with 10-20bhp... along with complete exhaust and inlet, you could gain an extra 30-40 bhp Allso an increase to your torque.

Havent done this myself, but the info ive gathered from a clubmember in Norway who has benchmarked +aprox 35bhp after such an upgrade and tweaking(03typeR):

-Mugen sport air intake
-Fujitsubo RM-01A exthaust
-Toda Racing 4-2-1 manifoild
-Hondata K-pro Engine Management System med PRB ECU
-Honda OEM broadbandlambda

With the old CTR you could get a few BHP more by helping it breath a bit better.
Easily done with 4 washers

Induction kit and a decent exhaust would squeeze a few extra horses out of it.

Mapping doesn't work so easily on non-turbo cars, the easiest way is to change the hardware.

Check what Honda would do to improve the K20A engine:
Honda K20A 2.0l DOHC i-VTEC SPEC R Engine for the new FD2 CIVIC TYPE R

Biggest gains seem to come from the intake manifold...

Hmmm, to me it looks like if you order new inlet and outlet manifoilds from this new TDM-R (wonder if it fits) we could gain like 20-25bhp? Cuz this engine will never come to europe anyway as i understand it...
