Having been to ABP and spoken with the sales people (Matt) and the mechanics i went ahead and had some work done on my Type r GT

New Milltek Sport ABP stainless steel cat back exhaust system - Resonated centre section, discreet tailpipes within the original triangular bumper trim £570.00 inc vat

Camber Adjustment bolts and race adjustment done

New Pipercross air filter fitted

The car sounds and now drives unbelievably well, no understeer and also the braking is improved, the sound at VTEC is awesome without being "bad-boy"

very tempted by this Milltek system... anyone had one fitted?
How loud is it? YouTube videos are always deceptive!

Cheers!

those two do not mix mate at a recent rolling road day my freinds fn2 with the p/cross and the milltek pulled 205bhp.
mine with just the aem on pulled 208bhp.
he threw the p/cross away and put the std airbox back on which he said was a lot better.

A lovely blast up the A14 and M6 and a fun drive back!
The exhaust seams to have 'matured' now... started off very loud and angry and has softened slightly.
Lovely and rich noise as you put your right foot down!
Sure I will be popping back to ABP again for a few more treats at some point.

Well it is definitely louder, and as the exhaust really makes a difference on acceleration and at lower revs, there can be a bit of a drone when cruising in 6th gear.

However, in 5th gear its very quiet at 70mph. And cruising around town in 3rd/4th its smooth.
Drop it down a cog to 2nd however and you shall wake up the neighbours!

Isn't this what having a hot hatch is all about?
My car doesn't look subtle, why should it sound it?

In 6th gear, the exhaust is happiest and quietest at around 90mph.... i guess!!!

But it's by no means bad and as I mainly do A and B roads, it was never really an issue. Hope that helps?

The exhaust sounds great, the Hondata ecu may actually make the original exhaust sound a little more meaty when underload-this is what I've heard from people that have had their ecu re-flashed.
