ABP Motorsport (Crewe) tuning stuff

This is a summary of ABP's work on the FN2 (all written by Chris/azinho):

Brakes! Had a good look at the brakes and other than the caliper being badged Type R and being relocated to the front of the wheel as opposed to the EP3 being at the rear the discs & pads are the same as the early car. Tried to fit a StopTech 4-pot kit but no joy - The floating disc is hard against the ball joint so no 4-pot kits for now......... We then trial fitted the PowerSlot 350mm front big-disc conversion kit and this fits great (with a little mod or 2) and fills the 18" wheel really well. If you have the 19" rages you need this kit to stop your brakes looking so ridiculously small! The kit not only looks great but being 50mm larger in diameter and grooved offers far better braking ability with improved cooling and reduced brake fade which can be an issue on sustained hard fast-road use. Not anymore Click the image to open in full size. . The brakes are now far better even using the standard Honda pads. We will be trying some pad options over the next few weeks and will keep you all posted.
PowerSlot front 350mm big-disc brake conversion kit (includes pair of 350mm grooved discs, caliper relocation brackets and fitting kit) is £375 inc vat with an additional £90 fitting charge if required.

1) Milltek Sport ABP stainless steel cat back exhaust system - Non-resonated centre section, discreet tailpipes within the original triangular bumper trim £495.00 inc vat

2) Milltek Sport ABP stainless steel cat back exhaust system - Non-resonated centre section, 90mm Polished Round tailpipes requiring the removal of original triangular bumper trim £545.00 inc vat

3) Milltek Sport ABP stainless steel cat back exhaust system - Resonated centre section, discreet tailpipes within the original triangular bumper trim £570.00 inc vat

4) Milltek Sport ABP stainless steel cat back exhaust system - Resonated centre section, 90mm Polished Round tailpipes requiring the removal of original triangular bumper trim £620.00 inc vat

These systems are 100% exclusive to ABP Motorsport and will not be available from either Milltek Sport or any other Milltek Sport dealers.

We are taking advance orders and the initial batch of 10 systems will be available to us before the end of August. These will sell out quickly but Milltek insist on ititial production runs of only 10 units. Our next batch of systems (probably 30+) will not be through until late September Click the image to open in full size. .

We are ordering 8 Non-resonated 'discreet' systems and 2 90mm Round systems so if you want them call and place your orders on 01270 567177 ASAP to avoid missing out.

Standard:

212.7 BHP @ 7625rpm
&
152.5 lb/ft @ 6065rpm

ABP Milltek Sports cat-back system fitted and here are the results:

219.5 BHP @ 7596rpm
&
159.8 lb/ft @ 6100rpm

A good start guys +6.8bhp power gain along with torque increase of +7.3 lb/ft

Too bad about loosing the triangular exhaust trim.
Hope the sound makes up for it!

And doesn´t that brake mod include taking off the brake shields as discussed in another thread?

Yes - so you'd be wise to inspect the front suspension a bit more often for unusual crap build up or melting boots. If you're a track-day person, I'm sure you'd be doing this anyway.

Everyone told you not to change the rear brakes, and explained why.

This kit is for the front brakes.

Have experience of Milltek systems on VAG vehicles, Golf GTI, Audi TT, etc. Whilst not the cheapest around, i found the materials used to be of superb quality and the overall fit and finish couldn't be faulted.

no.
the bit from the manifold will be different.

however....
if you trawl waaaay back, or look at the posts by an ex-member in here 'Danko', he originally had a 1.4 (swapped for a CTR), and I'm almost certain he got an exhaust system for it.

I'll have a dig in a bit

I might be getting confused with his CTR though, as I think he had one on that too.

(For old hands in here, please note that by "his", I am of course using Danko's own abreviation for "my Dad's")
