Any one fitted aem induction kit on type r

Any one fitted this kit ....
Just placed on as standered resonator box still in place with cold fead pipe
The air filter is fitted as to car
But crapy flat spot around 3000rpm and if i may say feals like its taken some power away ...
Any one had same problem ?
Going to take it off a load of noise and NOTHING to say about power increase or should it be decrease
Could it be heat soke or is this just a bad case of poor effort to gain on a bloody good engine design ...
Oh it fits poorly aswell ......Muffles on battery positive terminals not a very good idea ...As a shorting out could occur...

Help

I too really want to know about this filter, have seen the one fitted in photos on another post on here. looks brilliant, and the sound on the youtube vid almost makes it worth it even if there is no power gain. however im not up for a loss in power of a badly fitting aftermarket item as it gives a taky feel to the car.

so please reply people!

Thumbs down

Fitted the AEM induction kit a month or so ago & took off straight away! the flat spot at 2500/3000 is mental!

Would seriously advise not to buy!

The kit i got from apb motorsport is actually one off a civic si from the states, this is why the induction pipe is a little short.

Did apb refund you not had time to ring yet ?

But i will say one thing though actually trading standards may be involved if no refund ,as the fitment is dangerous and can warrent further action if not given....?!!

Thanks ..

this has been mentioned on a few other forums i have a aem and i have heatsoke when stoodstill but i rarely get a flat spot not much of a bhp increaseif any at all the noise is great turn the vsa off and it helps a little due to the ecu control over the air induction to a degree.
all in all i am very happy with it

I read an article in "japaneese preformance" magasine, CPL racing is developing Intake and exhaust manifoild, with very good results so far, but i dont think they have got it for sale yet... But they probably will soon.

They mentioned that the intake is the most difficult because its quite good from factory, and a big developement from EP3. But the exhaust got very big potensial especially HP and torque in mid section revs
And combined with Hondata ECU very promising looking at Dyno tests!
