Why on earth would anyone take notice of anything said on Top Gear, a sad dumbed down program for dumbed down people.

If you really want to know about the car that`s what this wonderful forum is all about ask the proud owners

Before the CTR was launched, there were a large number of people very concerned about how the reviews would go. They were also concerned at how the car would measure up on a track compared to the "competition".

I always maintained, and still maintain: "so what". Reviews are good reading, and might even highlight something you will want to explore on the test drive(s). But ultimately, you must drive the car. If you like it more than all the other cars you've tested, then buy it. End of story. If the Renault Megane nutter turbo F1 MPS RS Clubsport is 0.001 secs faster round a kart circuit in southern Spain, then that doesn't affect how I perceive the car I'm driving.

Does anyone remember the TG review of the 350Z? JC slated it from top to bottom. Then slated it a bit more. That car has gone on to be the enthusiasts darling, winning award after award, maintaining high resale, and is generally loved. And the original JC/TG 911 review? Didn't like it because the radio was in the right place! I can't ever remember using the radio in my 911.

Your decision to buy must be your own.

Top Gear rated it as the best hot hatch. The dealers handout a copy of the group test at their showrooms !

I have read Clarksons review and I have also tested the Type R out for 3 days. To tell you the truth. He talks rubbish. He's just entertaining that's all. His word is not gospel.

In fact it looks like someone paid him to just write down all bad things he could find and leave all good things out, to me it looks like he had a really bad day when writing it, but ofcourse everyone has differet opinions.
But it just dont seem like a fair review of the car, like he doesnt concider the segment and rivals. If it was a millon dollar car yes, but its a hothatch for gods sake...

That's only JC's personal opinion. I think it will get reviewed when the program comes back in the Autumn (it is, isn't it?)
Anyway, the Top Gear magazine gave the CTR 15/20 - one of the highest scores for a hot hatch.
