2008 Type R

Does anyone know if there are any changes to the type r for the 2008 model year?
Being that mine is due for delivery in October I was just wondering if it would be a 2008 model year.

No you won't get a 08MY. Production doesn't start until October. Probably not in the dealers until Dec/Jan.

Doubt there will be any major changes so early in its lifespan. Minor internal changes if anything.

You are joking, well I hope you are? The 08 plate comes out on March 1st 2008. We are currently in 2007 if you did nt notice! lol I'm also getting my silver CTR GT in October, and mines going to be a 57 plate!

cnicolini. You miss the point mate - he's not on about reg plate. He's on about the 08MY Civic - Honda are updating the Civic a bit as tey do most years - new colour few little tit bits added to refresh it. Production starts Mid Oct apparantly so a Nov delviery may be 07MY or 08MY depending. That's his question.

Ok I suppose that makes sense! I ordered mine on 20th August and it was suppose to arrive in Feb 2008, but they had a cancellation, I'm now getting it next month sometime! I suppose its good news for me!

I think that they are blaming it on Christmas and on the closure of the factory during this period! They did say that if I waited and order the car in Sept, then you'd expect it in March 2008. The system did nt show a date for when the car was going to be build, so they automatically tell you 20 weeks! This was only for all silver CTR GTs, black ones were available sooner!

I'm not sure that you can tell, mines a 57 plate and 07 appears a couple of times in the VIN number, but it may just be chance? The dealer told me that when I ordered my car back in July that it would arrive in Feb 2008, well there was a cancellation and I received it 3 weeks ago!

I found this on an ad on ebay:

All you need to do to check the model of your car is look at the VIN number (on civics this can be found on the bottom left hand side of your windscreen)
Your VIN number should look something like this:
SHHFK18607U021365
The part we are looking for in this VIN number is the 07, this can be found 9 digits into the VIN number. This indicates the year the car was made, obviously 07 will be 2007, therefore 08 civics will have an 08 in their VIN number.
