Spent a lot of dollar getting this car. and not understanding how to drive it, i just thought its sport its fast 6 gear put foot down and away it goes like my civic 2.2.ex.. so i thought I've bought a car with a problem, but i guess the car has found a problem driver.
i just like to say I'm sorry. its late I've been stressing all day why my car runs flat, so i will try 8k range and see if i get a smile. thanks again.. |

Ive had hondas for years and everyone has been great and reliable. frv problem was solved by using a better fuel than tescos I've been using shell vpower and that seem to clear up my problems with civic too. has for the handbrake it was an easy fix. £9 switch.
please wish me good luck with this one |

I'm not trolling. I needed help. Thought this site was about helping. I don't need pointless sarcastic comments from people accusing me of trolling!
I will get the car checked by Honda and they can drive it and put my mind at rest. If there is anyone in the area who could test the car I would welcome you. For the those who did give me advice many thanks. I'm not after earning points on this site. I'm just after help thanks again. No need to respond (sarcastically or otherwise) to this post. my advice the car is a little jumpy for a few minutes when cold but forget turbo diesels and learn to drive again, this should be simple when you get on a clear B road and leave the car in 2nd or 3rd and just nail it until you bottle it or hit the rev limiter then you will know what a Type R is all about. (oh and dont break the speed limit)

I think you do need a comparison. Why not go to a dealership and test drive another Type R?
I had a turbo diesel 4x4 as a hire car and I can tell you now off the mark it would have left my Civic for dead, well until I got to 4.5K on the revs range anyway. If you're used to a diesel you're probably going to find the car unresponsive around town by comparison. I only have the S but must admit low down its OK but not the quickest but as others have said, these cars thrive on revs. Once you get over 4.5K they change character completely, albeit with the R it's much more of a change! That's the difference. Where a diesel gets breathless is where VTEC thrives and where a diesel is fast is where VTEC feels gutless. Very different type of motoring to diesel driving. |

It's all about your gears, a type r isn't sluggish around town it's what gear your in. I went from a fast diesel to the champ white and noticed the difference straight away and after 9mths I'm still learning the car I still haven't had the guts to drop gears at high revs because I wouldn't have done that in my previous car, and from reading other posts on this thread it seems the way my car drives is normal and has put my mind at ease on these issues. So trolling or not you helped me out
