hi can somebody please confirm that the speakerupgrade actually works for the 'type R' specifically, I have been told that if I take the door off I will never get the seal 100% again, is this true???? I dont want to mess my car up, also has anybody got pics of the mudflaps? ideally on the type r, cheers folks

Here's a Type R with mudflaps (not mine I hasten to add). No idea about you other questions though!

The only difference with the 3 door is the fact that it's trickier getting to the rear speakers (it is easiest to remove the seat). Plenty of people have done it. Don't know who spun you a line about the door "seal" - was it a dealer trying to sell you something?

and is it as long as its 6.5" it should fit? cos Im willing to spend a bit more on them like 150 cos I might not install all the amp and sub

also anyreason why people have opted for the componant and not the coax? sorry if this is a daft question

Component has a seperate tweeter while a coax is the two combined in one standalone unit. .

Also if you fit the coax the tweeters are pointing at your ankles (not good, when your ears are in your head).

What seal are you worried about?

You don't touch this when changing the speakers, so he was offering incorrect advice.

black bits behind the wheels...

If they were colour coded might be ok - but do look a bit odd in black on a red car...

Mud flaps on a Type R

When i look at mine,
I can honestly say my last thought would be that car needs a big set of rubber mud flaps
