Think someone needs stiffer engine mounts to go with that...

From the looks of the clearances it won't fit an RRC or Skunk2 inlet manifold, so apart from the pre-throttle body part, which then makes me think bottom mount and then keeping the the A/C which I'm not bothered about, the only benefit is fitting different sized Rotrex chargers. I don't go drag racing so big deal, an intercooled kit is plenty for the road.

I also really don't like the look of the vibration on the inlet manifold cover at 1:18 and 1:32. I've not seen this on any dyno runs I've had to be honest.

Has it been confirmed that the outside of the drive shaft is the shield and doesn't rotate, I really can't tell from the picture and vid?

Any confirmation of what material the shaft is made of, is it balanced, what are the tolerances to failure etc., and if there is an outer part as a shield, what is that made of and what forces can that withstand?

I really don't want to be on a downer on this but I think it's got fail written all over it. Time will tell.

- "please excuse the high rpm rattle sound, I forgot to bolt the top cover back on before the runs and didnt notice untill I watched back the fottage after we had taken the car off the dyno. doh!"

The shaft is inside an alloy tube. The shaft is made from EN16T and balanced. Although it didn't need it. We have changed our mind on the fmic and it is quite easy to fit 2, 2 1/4 inch tubes through to the front. This will be easier to fit and cheaper than our previous rad/fmic set up. The total kit price may be more, depending on customers spec. We have ordered the ic core and will fit it up as soon as possible. The tooth belt whine will be much less on the production pulleys, the tooth form wasn't quite right on this car, causing a bit of noise. The nice thing is most inlet manifolds/ throttle bodies will fit. Although some performance manifolds will not perform as well as the stock one in a FI application (if the casting is just a tube infront of the runners the air will be blown more into 1 and 2 cylinders than 3 and 4). The OE one has more of a plenum in front of the runners giving better air distribution. The LHD car may need to put the battery in the boot (trunk) but otherwise it should still fit. Now a C38 Rotrex can be fitted and you can still keep the aircon. You will have much more boost capacity so can tailor the power to your needs.

St1 horsepower gains

We have Darrens FN2 with the prototype C30-74 supercharger (baby) and no intercooler set up to see how the drive train survives. This supercharger rev's higher then the bigger units so its a good idea to see what issues we have, if any, with this set up before we invest in intercoolers and bigger superchargers. With a bit of fine tuning with the Flashpro we now have a very nice performance increase. Power noses over at the top end as we have lots of ignition retard to stop it detting itself to death. With the decent fmic we have planned it could make 350 bhp.

Exactly......turbo that works in all conditions.
Only thing its missing is a means to bypass the compressor without interrupting airflow for better economy.
Perhaps an electric clutch so that it can freewheel or something like they do with ac compressors.
Need to be pretty robust like the wavetrac biasing.

You could also drive the rotrex from an electric motor and use the engine as a generator instead.
Probably wont be as efficient but would give much more flexibility and control.

Now what if you use the hybrid as a generator for an electric compressor for boost instead of trying to drive the engine directly.
