I can’t see the point of getting a CTR and not hitting the limiter at every (safe) opportunity ……… although the price of fuel is killing the fun factor

My gear changes normally go: 1, 2, 5...

I'm sure you can guess where I'm changing gear...

The shame of it is that I REALLY like 3rd on the CTR - but I only really get to use it when accellerating onto a motorway...

agreed, yet I was overtaking the other day and didn't notice I was in 3rd, switched to 4th thinking it was a 2->3 move and didn't noticed the guy was accelerating (duh!). I ended up at unreasonable speeds, but holy gears! 4th is just as good as 3rd when up the revs! it's just that we don't usually use 4th in the power band!

Yes you have to be careful, the car reaches 90mph in a flash, not recommended on a 50mph road! lol You really cant push the car on a public road!

On a 150 mile round trip at the weekend I got 38.5 mpg with a mixture of motorway, A road and a little town driving.

No v-teccing though

Thats the only way to get the higher MPG it would seem.....somehow the car seems to try and make you Vtec lol!
