It's a Type R forum - why are we talking about fuel economy?!!! Average for me is 22-25mpg. Daily commute in traffic and a wee blast through the countryside to my house to wake me up again

ANDYC.. you are right..... the CTR is a complete package ...looks without doubt... and enough performance for the average driver...so bottom line.. if your not happy..... DONT BUY IT... or.... SELL IT ....or buy something else...there is enough choice but you wont get anywhere near the looks or fun for your money...ON A STEEL HORSE I RIDE

Who is actually moaning about the consumption on their CTR? We all knew what we were buying. We have actually been trying to see who can get the highest figure really just for fun.

After taking the picture I have posted at 43.9 mpg I then reverted back to my usual 23.2mpg and I don't care because I love the noise this car makes!!!!

Totally agree,
My R has done just over 2000 miles now, i have not reset trip counter B for just over 900 miles now and have manged an average fuel consumption of 28 mpg. (considering the way i drive i am very pleased with the fuel consumption)

Same with me, I've left my trip counter B for 1800 miles now, and it reads 28 mpg, pretty good I think.

Would still not bother me if it read 20.4

Well just got through my first full tank and only managed 25mpg. As the previous owner had 32mpg on the trip computer i can only put this down to my heavy footed driving..

But its interesting reading what people have managed to get out of it!

Oh and i recycle everything i can and try to be energy efficient in other ways in the hope it will help to reduce my carbon footprint in some small way.
I'd almost rather live in a house with no heating than give up my Type R

I have just returned from the Isle Of Man in my ctr and having done 230 mostly vtecced miles the computer showed 34.6 mpg but i worked it out to be 33mpg what a fantastic car the ctr is, I ordered mine on christmas eve to arrive on March 1st, and although i havent regged it, It was driven with 6 miles on the clock at 80mph from Cardiff to Liverpool has been back to wales, Blackpool,Manchester and then to the mountain road on the I.O.M trip b says 34.0mpg and it hasnt used a drop of oil so much much better than my old rx8 it is ace i love it but it needs a bath now so im off

Yeah, my best mates brother just showed me his R32 Golf reading average of 35mpg after he discovered he could switch off the climate control!!

Even 30 would be nice in the CTR, but since 8 of the 12 miles of my daily commute is about to be covered in average speed cameras I sense I may see my mpg improve and my fun decrease exponentially

Well if your getting more than 22.1mpg then your doing better (or worse depending on how you look at it) than me

I'm getting around 27-28 which I don't think is too bad

If I wanted fuel economy or to save the planet I'd have bought a Hybrid

Thumbs up Ctr-mpg

Went to the lakes on Monday of this week and i got 34.1 mpg driving up the M6 at no lower than 70 mph. I had the cruise control set to 75 mph most of the way. ( 152miles total journey )
I even had the odd blip upto 85-90 ish for overtaking.

Very impressed for a hot hatch.

On the way home i got 35.2mpg It's mostly down hill

Thats impressive ctrdaveg.....I'll maybe be going the M6 to my mates which is all downhill the way there but uphill all the way back. I'll make sure I put down the MPG there and back. I can only hope its as good as that
