It must be true that England is downhill from Scotland - I got 37.5mpg on the way down to England at Easter, and 34mpg on the way back.

type r on the motorways

I did a 460 mile round trip and caned it i.e. keeping it in the 5500 rpm+ range. Result £110 in fuel. Not good as my Golf 2.0tdi would do the same trip using around £45 of diesel!

I recently did the same journey in the CTR and took it easy. i.e. kept the revs in the sub 4500 rev range and spent £65 in fuel.

The car is like hot and cold. Keep it in the VTEC rev range and boy will it punish you!

Look what I can get my average up to, ha ha! Ok it was 0.7 miles from the garage when I filled it up. Its a little game I like to play when I fill my car up with fuel - reset the trip and see what I can get it up to. Sad I know. I've had it over 65 before!

One of the options in the menu. (from memory) Put key in and turn the car on, but dont start it, hold the info button on the wheel down for a few secs, the config menu will come up and it's one of the options in there.

If you can't find it let me know and I'll have a look in the morning for you.

Just a note though, I 'THINK' it reset's whichever trip you have selected when you start the car after filling up. So if you have B selected it will reset that and if A that one, so make sure you remember to have the right one selected before filling up.

I set the auto reset a few months back,
It only ever resets trip A after filling, trip B can only be reset manually

I have that switched on, but its only worked once! And that was on the second fill after I set it up, checked it again last night and its still set to on, but it picks and chooses when it works!

How did you manage to get 23mpg from an RX8?

I have managed to get an average of 30mpg+ from my CTR over the past 300miles with no difference in my driving style,
I have finally discovered the off switch for the climate control

I have noticed a few people on here say that they would buy a Type R but they could not live with the fuel costs.
I decided to go for a 20 mile drive on Sunday to see how many miles per gallon i could get.
I drove on a mix of A roads, B roads and a short run on the Motorway.
