Well what a trip i've had in the Civic. Done almost 1000 miles since Friday, which is good going considering it didn't move from Friday evening till yesterday morning and I got stuck on the M6 for 3 and a half hours on Friday. Anyways, been getting 38.9 mpg.......I had done 274.4 miles and the left in the tank was 198 and when I filled it at that point (for the rest of the journey) It only took 25.78litres. I think my having to blast it more than a few times by people dithering in the middle lane had something to do with that. Now done 168 miles since the fill up and i've got 234 left in the tank.

I must say that I am mega impressed with that. I told my mate about that last night and what I had as a left in the tank is usually what he gets from a tank.

Been driving on a mixture of roads....motorway (in rush hour), motorway (after rush hour), some B roads, a lot of A roads both single and dual carriageways. Just thought I'd mention that just incase you thought it was all motorway driving So you can get great consumption when your not in a rush.

Oh and i've been using V-Power and the car has just done about 3600 miles. yeeeeha!

Not quite relevant, but I used to get about 28mpg in my 05 CTR, and that was mainly town and traffic commuting. I didn't have a light foot either

Now my Merc, is pretty poor when you consider it's a diesel, with a 60 litre tank, refilling with about 55 litres, and I've done about 410 miles. Equates to about 35mpg.

I used to have a Golf 1.8T, which was remapped and on 18s, and that only returned 24/25mpg, but the drive to work was a lot faster and further.

Have travelled just over 200 miles since last fill and, driving conservatively, the computer is showing 36.2 mpg - using Tesco 99, 13,000 miles on the clock and mostly A roads.

Driving normally I'm still getting approx 32 mpg.

I'm still getting over 400 miles from a tank and thats giving it a bit V-Tec now and again......at this rate it'll be cheaper (I think it is already) to take my car to work than my Mum's 3.0l Diesel

Sounds like these new Type-R engines are uber efficient, unless your name isn't Angie

Pic as you will see shows that when I filled up just outside Newcastle I had done 274.9 miles and had 188 miles left in the tank now that to me equates to 462.9 miles from a tank in my CTR.

Like I said I don't use it to work due to my last car having over £600 worth of damage caused to it in the car park (three weeks before I sold it) due to people being lazy and careless. None the less if I was to get a good MPG, buying V-Power at 113.9p and getting say 350 miles from the tank then thats still cheaper than my Mum's 530d touring. That has a 70 litre tank and Diesel is 120.9p and she gets about 400 odd miles from her tank.

Its not my fault if I bought my car for pleasure purposes and can avoid using it to and from work therfore getting better mpg than some

p.s. Sorry for the crap picture, I only had my phone on me at the time

It all depends on where you drive and how you drive. I don't use it to work so I don't tend to sit in stop/start traffic meaning I can get a better mpg sticking to the speed limits. I don't know about others but there are quite a few speed cameras, fixed and adverage near me. Not to mention that Lothian and Borders police have recently up'd their unmarked cars on the roads in order to catch folk speeding, not wearing seatbelts and using mobile phones whilst driving. I would rather be safe than sorry

Everyones driving style is different. I've been good keeping out of the V-tec (most of the time), using CC when I can and keeping to speed limits. I also use V-Power which seems to have made the difference.

It sounds like Rx8 ownership was expensive at the fuel pumps.
50! I would have cut my rists

Mine is averaging 28.5 mpg all urban driving at the moment, quite happy with that.

This is the first time (and purely out of curiosity) I have resisted the urge to stir the V-tec up and I have 47 miles to next fill up with 230 miles on trip since I last brimmed it.
I live in an area with many roundabouts and a lot of hills, so 270 miles to a tank is the best I have achieved. Can't see my will power holding out on next fill-up though !!!
The last full tank got me 126 miles?? Although that was mainly short journeys with the Howling V-tec in play at every opportunity !!
