Not sure mate, The guys at the school i am with just have hard top ones. Will find out tomorrow if you want while i am at the test centre. i will Ask an Examiner. I know for sure you cant take test in New Tigra or any other car with only two seats, as they need back seats in case a chief examiner needs to sit in the back to supervise the normal examiner.

Yes the production cars you can not take your test in are the Mini Cab and the Ka Cab

The view reversing is not up to scratch due to roll bar head rests etc.

From DSA web site Minimum test vehicle requirements for a car and car and trailer test : Directgov - Motoring
Some convertible vehicles are unsuitable for the driving test – eg the Ford KA convertible and Mini convertible due to the lack of all-round vision for the examiner. Theres nothing about 2 seaters there

If it's true it's probably against the law

Probably not, although it wuldn't half be fun, always wanted to do my test in my dads old car, Rolls Royce Silver Shadow MKII, now that would have been funny.......lol.

This bits interesting: a speedometer that measures speed in miles per hour and kilometres per hour (so does that discount classic cars??? Or cars with only only MPH???).

I am an Instructor with a New Shape Corsa SXI 1.7 CDTI. I ordered a type S gt in DBP With HFT & Sat Nav & Rev Cam, and take delivery of it on the 1st march. i cant wait. Every single one of my pupils are just as excited as i am to get it. i spoke to the Chief Examiner at the test centre and he told me that the rev cam must be turned off whilst on test. So i Have to do a mod on it so i can turn it off . But i dont care about doing a small thing like that. As far as rear visability goes its no worse than the new corsa 3 door, which by the way is a terrible car to own and drive, worst car i have ever had, it Drives like A bag of ***t. Will Post Pics when i get it with the livery on it.
Just put a sticker on the cam !

If you took your test in the RR, you would be stuck with an auto only licence!!!

you could attach some 4X3x8 with no nails that would stop the picture coming through on the camera

or stick a small sign under the cam which then displays "look, not in use! " on the screen when you put it in reverse
