Tetrodotoxin is blow-fish poison, in the right dose it totally paralysies the central nervous system (and it's easily absorbed by touch). Now if we can just find a Sushi Chef, with a Civic

May I suggest that if you can get hold of that stuff, that you don't put it on with your fingers!

......or especially don't lick them afterwards!

Valve Caps

Scum bags nicked mine too recently, kids with feck all else to do I reckon. Seems strange that 4 tiny silver valve caps seem to become homing devices once screwed in!!

Just ordered 4 more from eBay with little Honda logo's on... look the muts!

Let's see how long these last... !!

I've got the ones that you get on BMW's. Used to get them pinched all the time, went through 16 sets in 20days! So I put yellow dust caps on, nobody wanted them until one day I came back to the car to discover they had gone too! But they had lasted a good year or so by then but folk will steal anything.

Lad in my village went round EVERY car and nicked their dust caps, he then kept them in his room in a bucket, well thats where the police found them all. Bet they use them for their own cars when theirs get pinched!

Have just ordered these off ebay @ £11.99p
Richbrook make, as I am fed up with the finish of cheaper ones degrading after a short time. O.K., still nickable, but if the buggers can't get them off, they will only scratch the car.

Inbredinthemoor, so it could be dodgy.
When we first moved here, we thought that we were in the film- Deliverance, with Burt Renolds.

Don't bother with fancy valve caps, waste of time & money. I had some on an old car with a Honda H on them & some thieving b**t**d had all 4 in a supermarket carpark, broad daylight! I replaced them with some silver ones that came with their own little spanner to put on/take off. The only problem then was that I put them on so tight I couldn't get them off. I had to get a local tyre fitter to snap them off & pay for new valves.
The missus has recently had the standard fit small metal ones nicked off her Mini. Think it was while parked right outside our house! I've told her to just get cheap black plastic ones, but she won't have it & reckons she's getting some of those anti-theft ones. Someone in our street has these, & before Xmas I had to chase off some kids who were trying their damnest to get them off. Imagine the damage they could cause while trying to remove them!

I had the standard fit metal valve caps nicked off my Z4.

Only a little thing, but it p*sses me off that someone thinks they can walk around my car nicking bits! Still could of been much worse I guess!

I called into the BMW garage and meantioned it to the parts guy - he gave me eight for free - amazing for BMW, I was expecting a big bill

Yip BMW must have a massive bucket of the things, they always give you them for free. Thats the ones that I have on my Civic. I had someone in another Cooper S nick the mini badge from my center cap. Had parked away from them had noticed that they were missing the sticker (which only cost £1.15) when I came back to my car the other Copper S had gone and so had one of my stickers from the Center Caps....funny that! If people are so tight that they want to steal things like this off others cars then they shouldn't have cars in the first place!

Another good one with BMW's is folk like to steal the locking Wheel Nut covers. Grrrrrr

Bloody annoyed to come back to the civic this afternoon after my lectures had finished to find that my valve caps were also missing, they were some nice chrome ones aswell.
Im pretty sure i know who did it, as i saw a group of chavs ride past on their bikes as i was parking up earlier on, who commented on how nice my wheels looked...the chav scum must of came back and nicked them after i left so they could put them on their bikes

I thinks its time they brought back capital punishment!!!

Burr the edges of the metal caps with sandpaper, maybe next time you'll get some DNA . Disgusting it is though, you can't leave something without someone else damaging it, like those people who pee over soft top cars windows, just b*oody jealous!!!!!!!! It annoys me so much.

They look really good, but with all this there is always the chance they'll cut off the valves and take them home.

Third party fancy caps

Be veeeeery careful when looking to fit some of the fancy caps out there.
I bought a set to replace some chrome ones fitted to my wifes KA by the guys at Donnington Park when buying a set of alloys. They had fitted chromed valves and caps to match. Some scumbag had them away within hours of them being fitted!
I found out about some high-tech security versions from the US and bought 2 sets. Fitted one set and after an English Autumn/Winter couldn't get 2 of them off. Had to get "The Management" to drive to a tyre dealers to get new valves fitted on the others - you can imagine how that went down.
Tried silver spray painting standard plastic ones but have now given up and settled for the very underwhelming standard black plastic.
