Now you are taught to make sure that the car is out of gear before you start it and I always do this. Seems that people quickly forget what they are taught and you can't tell me that your instructor never told you to make sure the car was not in gear, start the engine, put the clutch in, select first, mirror, signal, check over your shoulder to your blind spot before you move off, if save to do so move off.
You're also taught the mirror/signal/manouvre routine and to never cross your hands on the steering wheel or break speed limits. I wonder how many people stick to these and many other things taught by driving instructors?

Some of us do stick to some of these things. Gets right on my wick when folk don't check their mirrors (especially the ones that still have them folded in) just pull out or the best ones, pull out then indicate. I even signal right on the 300 yard marker for slip roads etc, not before or after as both would be marked against in a test. You are not taught not to break speed limits, you are taught to keep up with the flow of traffic. Feeding the wheel, I don't do that all the time, some situations do call for it (my Grandad does it all the time, makes me giggle but slows him down something terrible).

And if you sit at 75 mph in a Civic, your actually doing 70 mph due to the speedo being 5mph out (well it is on mines) but that lowers the consumption.

I'm right pain the bum when it comes to rules of the road, due to the fact I don't want pulled over and if they do pull me over it will have to be for something good.

I'm sure some people do stick to all of the rules all of the time, I'm also fairly sure that these people are few and far between...

Can't say that I've ever been subject to a good experience when being pulled over by the boys in blue, even if I've done nothing wrong (which admittedly isn't all of the time)

I was actually stopped one morning on my way to work ad they were pulling over every other car. I was driving a week old Cooper S, they had only been released the week before and they checked all the lights, tyres etc while someone in a clapped out banger with no brake lights and a short somewhere went driving by quite the thing. Sometimes think they have nothing better to do.

No, it only comes off when the window is open and a fly hits the paint.

Handbrake Recall

Booked onto Dealer yesterday for tail gate strut replacement and a search and recover operation for the boot light connector!

They also carried out the handbrake recall and as a bonus they also change the handbrake lever cover (which I scratched)......Result!

It did, I bet if you check the Honda UK site and the recalls section it will say you have some outstanding work due and to contact your dealer.

Hi Kremmen

You don't need a letter. I phoned Johnsons of Beaconsfield and asked for it to be done. They did it two weeks ago. It took half an hour. Feels alot better.

Well this might be the get out clause for all those who don't want it done. If you don't recieve the letter then how are you meant to know the fix is ready for your car? Honda don't have to know you use this site. Also its not MY responsibility to chase and check with them!
