16" Alloys

Can anyone advise me if it is possible to fit 16 " alloys to a 2006 Sport ( 2.2 Diesel )
The reason I ask is that I am fed up with the car wandering all over the road and forever needing correcting, hopefully 16" alloys with the correct tyres should sort it out

Hi Robbo

Yep 1st thing I got checked out was the tracking ( 4 wheel optical ) and it was spot on.
I later went one further and had all the settings checked on a Hunter and again all were ok.
It does seem reading the treads that some are prone and some are not, if replacing the alloys with 16" ers will cure the problem then that is what I shall do, I just need to know that it is acceptable to do so ?

Cheers

You can replace the 225/45-17 tyres with 205/50-17 (same as BMW 1 and Ford Focus use for their 17"s).
This will reduce the tyre width to what you 'll get with the 16 alloys, and you can keep your 17 alloys.
Wheel diameter is similar, but the tyres are more expensive (at least here).
