Doesn't seem any different from the old one but never had a problem with it anyway. Apparently it only affects 06 and 07 cars as the modified one was fitted to 08's during production.
So it looks like we can wait for it rather than leave it with them, if it only takes 30 minutes.

I believe that I posted about the new guy in the village, who left his Civic out of gear recently.
It ran down his drive, across the lane, through the hedge and into my field.
I wasn't a happy bunny.
He has gone and done it again, but this time, it went off to the right and straight through the boundary fence belonging to the adjacent property.
Now, once - unlucky, but twice --!

JTL, all that cross country stuff, he'd be better off with a Land Rover

Cheers,

When he told me this evening about it Bob, he said cars don't really matter much to him. ( can't see him on this forum then). Yet his car has all the extras on it and then some ?

A slightly radical thought here but if you have the car booked in, why not actually ask them to do the handbrake recall rather than waiting to see if it gets done. Talk to them, ask them what the recall involves rather than having to mark bits of your car etc....strange idea I know.......

When I booked mine in for service, they told me they had not got the parts for the handbrake fix, but on the friday before the service they phoned to say the parts were in and they would carry out the fix.
And they did

Pity they couldn't have changed it from the horrible plasticy thing and put a bit of leather on the new one, too much expense no doubt but the handbrake handle and the gear knob really let the quality down in the cabin. Changing gear knob easy, handbrake not so.

Hello Dan,
We all like to have a laugh and a joke on here (I hope),don't take all that you read on here seriously.

I will be asking about the handbrake when I take the car in.
Thanks for your interest.
Still,a little mark is a good idea.

It isn't strange to mark the bits on your car, when Honda have said they will replace something, and then get told just to tighten some screws, it's always good to be in full posession of the facts, therefore you can make better judgements (like moaning like *u** at the dealers ).

ATB,
Tom

Hand brake

Had handbrake replaced while car was in for it's second service, feels more positive.
Also replaced were front suspension struts, seal above windscreen and struts on rear hatch.

Oil leak fixed as well(timing cover).
