Inner tyre wear
After changing back to my summer wheels (at last) yesterday, I noticed that my front tyres have slightly excessive wear in the inner side.
Having an alingment check monday, but in the meantime: Has anyone had this The wear pattern could indcate a caster misalignment - is caster adjustable on the civic |

Got the wheels aligned today.
Had toe-out 0°09' on both front wheels - adjusted to zero. Also noticed that camber difference between front wheels was close to specification limits of 0°30'. Is this noticeable |

Front tyre wear
Hi,
This is my first post here. I bought a new Honda Civic 1.8 ES with Michelin Pilot Sport 225 45ZR 17 91Y tyres last May and at the first service reported to the dealer that the sterring / suspension felt twitchy and pulled to the right. To my disbelief they reported the tyres were at 2mm and heavily worn on the inside and would need replacing soon - my responsibility! I had only covered 6,500 miles in one year and my tyres need replacing - something is not right!! They agreed that a recall was necessary to replace the 'bump stops' on the front suspension. They told me that the tracking was way out by 40 minutes. When I drove the car away from the dealers I noticed the front steering felt tight and creaked like a sinking ship. The technician came out and said drive for a while and it should settle and hpefully the noise will go away. The noise is still there and is booked in again for inspection. Any similar experiences? Could it be the car setup can't cope with larger tyres? Would 205's be better? Can any recommend a different brand of tyres to put on? I'm fed up with the car and will probably part exchange soon any suggestions?? Thanks |

since yesterday i have also noticed that my front tyres have more wear on the inside Tires have already done 11000 km and allthough there is some wear, its still good for at least 5000 km. I have the michelin sport's tyres on it. Rear tyres dont show this kind of wear!! In general i would call my driving style very relaxed but some good corners once in a while so i didnt expect to see this wear. Is this another visit to the dealer? grtz |

The car is driving much the same, back in next week to the dealer to sort out the creaking noise since recall modification to front struts.
I have sent a complaint to the dealer and Honda UK about the problem and asking them to contribute to the premature end of my front tyres. The rear tyres are at 6mm and worn evenly. The problem is the new Civic has been designed and built in Swindon UK that's why there are so many problems!!! |

I am also suffering from this. I have had a major job done to the front end. Honda Cardiff (whom i can't praise enough) have said that the Car is all within specs... I even took a techie out and he said my driving style was distinctly average... Still, will have to wait and see now as to how the tyres ware... Had new bump stops since it seems mine was one of the few 06's that came from factory sans bump stops... which changed the ride height and wheel angle... Rides far smoother now! can only hope she is lighter on tyres also!

What surprised me is how touchy the car is with 225/45's - all this realignment has been done well within specification limits. |
